This thread will do....for people who have just restored a car, built up a car or just work on it themselves..... "BMW club member died on a club run up Mt. Nebo last month. Went straight on at a bend and down about 100m. Car was an M635 (24 valve M1 motor): 3 year restoration completed only the night before. There are questions about possible brake failure and seat mounting/seatbelt failure resulting in partial ejection (through sunroof) from the car on the way down. For the coroner to decide I guess."
Probably rushed to get it ready for the run. I used to race against a guy called Jack Lacey, who used to say: "Never build a car for an event. Get the car completely finished, THEN look for an event." Something I've always tried to do for the last 30 yrs, but never quite managed.
Unbelievable... Also interesting from the point that we have a colony of ultra-conservative Christians in the hinterland here and sometimes the women and girls (never see any of the men?) come to the beach and hitch up their ankle length dresses to paddle their toes in the water. They also have their hair covered with old-style triangular scarves - wonder if they were in France would they be ordered to strip? Fear and stupidity is doing strange things to our world...
On the other hand it's the law of that country so it needs to be respected. Go to Saudi Arabia and wear a bikini and let us know how you get on
Even in the "liberalised" UAE legging are a no no and there are lots of warning info about does and don'ts. Respect their culture is the word but there buy likes the canundrum.
I'll bet this was publicity stunt, who is going to lie down on a beach fully clothed, close to the scene of the largest terrorist attack in France. And the reason why the French are edgy: Female suicide bombers throughout the years - NY Daily News Also, for the bleeding liberals, try doing the reverse, I.E wear a bikini on a beach in the UAE (you'll get arrested and jailed, minimum.)
Agree with you about Saudi, but I'm not aware of any law in France that says you have to be undressed on a beach. Covered face is another thing, but that wasn't the case here. Cancer council would have us all wearing burkinis if they could!
Sadly, there isn't one. But there is a law in some parts that says you can't wear a burkini, and that's all that counts in this story.
It's a ban on burqinis put in place by several councils http://www.news.com.au/world/europe/french-court-rules-burkinis-are-back/news-story/44a99290ffb743dd9643c41c2e4af0ce I always find it it incredible/challenging/confronting/insulting etc going to the beach here in Sydney and seeing buffed up bearded men strutting topless along the boardwalks with their wives following 10paces behind covered from head to toe in a burqa, pushing a pram in hot weather. It's a medieval way of life that has no place in our society.
Here ya go.. Top French court suspends 'illegal' burkini ban as 'serious' violation of freedoms - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
