I'm pretty sure she died. I think a lot of people don't see the connection between the 'bum' out back behind Winkie's and Camilla (the brunette). I interperitted the bum to be Camilla's rotten corpse that the office stumbled upon and is still haunted by after seeing it. That's why I found that whole scene so interesting. It has these ackward blank pauses in the conversation where it's as if Lynch is directing a cut that is being filtered through another actor's third person perspective of how a situation would have gone down. Of course you don't think that the first time you see it though. The whole film unfolds beautifully. It unfolds seamless, yet is divided into two very separate halves (very unlike the two halves of Lost Highway)
