Moving into my new garage soon, and I'm looking for advice regarding a multi storey car lift so I can spread the cars among three levels. It needs 6 metres of lifting height, but most of my cars aren't very heavy, so a capacity of 2500kgs would be greatly sufficient. Don't like the idea to of a four post lift much, since it prohibits driving of the lift platform at an angle. I've found this type of lift online, called the Omer move 30L, and it seems like a pretty elegant solution, and lifting heights up to 11metres A scissor lift would be an option as well, and it might be more cost efficient. Any advice? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Most four post lifts offer a caster kit which allows moving the lift to any position you desire within or outside the garage area. They are very stable and do not need to be bolted to the concrete floor, plus with trolley jacks you can remove the wheels to service brakes, etc. The scissor lifts are generally less expensive than other options, the limiting factor is they can limit access to the centermost of the vehicle and do not raise the vehicle high enough to stand underneath. They can be moved by sliding them with some assistance to another location within the garage. The first picture is almost exclusively a storage lift, with it's solid platform. Is this it's intended sole use? This option would be a permanent mounting which is fine if you don't intend to use it for servicing. In which case the scissor jack might be your best option, but I would look into the models without the solid platform to allow access to the underside.
I dont think you read his question, or maybe I am misunderstanding, he is looking for a lift to use as an elevator to move cars up to the max height of a three story garage.
I finally had a lift made that will go up to 6 meters in height, and doesn't take up any space when it's on it's lowest position. I'm thinking of putting a Two Post lift alongside the multistory scissor lift, so I can use the opening in the ceiling for additional height to work on the cars when the multistory lift is down. For this I would need a Two post lift that connects the two posts with hydraulic lines, instead of cables, since the cables would interfere with the scissor lift's travel. Any suggestions on a Two post lift with hydraulic connections? Here are some pictures of the scissor lift during testing (it goes much higher than shown on the pictures): Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
