Getting ready to do my first oil change on my 04 murcie. 5w40 is advised in the manual, but it is hard to find here. One store has it, but it says it's for "Turbo Diesel Trucks" Anyone run into this? Can I use it? I did a search and I don't see alot regarding an oil change on a Murcie other than the price. I received filters from Midwestern Auto Group, and they have Agip in stock... but I would rather buy local. I've seen posts by (not sure of spelling here) AEHAAS, a doctor, regarding several tests he did for the best oil, but never found any conclusions as to what the best is... what are you guys using for oil and where do you buy it??

The turbo diesel oil you saw is probably Mobil 1 Truck & SUV 5w40 which is a great Group 4 oil. I used it on my Diablo and it gives great oil pressure even after sustained hard driving. I think its better than the AGIP 2000 semi synthetic oil but tha is just me personal opinion. I did however switch to Motul 15w50 on my current oil change as I may be taking the car on track and wanted the added insurance of a thicker racing oil.

Just a word of caution on any comments you may hear from aehaas: he recommends very thin oils that are great for start up but not suitable for the high stress motors like the lambo v12s in hard driving. There are different schools of thought on this - I just happen to be more conservative than him.

    Hope that helps.
