Your comments please. The SV seems like the smart man's lambo at this point, significantly less money, more hardcore, far fewer on the road. Any owners that can share experience? Things to be aware of?
I can tell you that it won't be cheaper than the first gen Aventador. Especially with only 400 or so of them on the road.
There are four SV on eBay all asking well under 400k. New Aventador is 410 list with an 450 if you want one now and pay a premium. So not sure what you mean?
There was a similar thread over on that Lambo forum... Consensus was to go for the SV. It offers a more pure driving experience and is the best of it's breed, not the first of many. In three years, Lambo's guaranteed to have at least added a roadster, if not a couple special editions and a bump in output (surely to compete with the by-then-released 599 replacement). Which would you rather have, a base 02 Murci, or a 6.0 Diablo? Easy to answer for me...
Maybe as of today...but you can order a 700 for April/May delivery now at MSRP with no mark up..fully optioned out at aprox $407K.. IMO, as I have told many..12-18 months from now, the first gen 700 cars will be selling for LESS then a 2010LP670-4SV. Keep in mind, less then 165 SV cars were made, NOT the 350 that all think AND less then 38 USA cars remain here in the states. The first gen 700 ALREADY outnumbers the USA SV cars, just from the first wave of delivery cars since October 2011.
Wow, this is this first time I had heard of this.. Will definitely affect the long term value if its true.
I have yet to see an SV selling for "significantly" less then 400. You're also getting a used car for near the same money. While that may mean nothing to some it could mean everything to others.
The Roadster is being debut at Geneva in 2 months! They'll be up to the 747SV-Versace Edition within 3 years.
Yes, confirmed by the factory to me directly and a few other present while in Monterey last year with the 700 try/drive event. I think the reason it is not public as it would cause an issue with multiple persons that "requested" and got the car number they wanted, inlcuding a preium pay for the "last" car #350.
An interesting debate, but let's factor in what you want. LP670 SV - Very limited edition, the best of it's breed, and certainly a collector item. Presently the market value might not reflect the cars value, but that due to the initial hype of the newer model. in 5 years, a Murci SV is going to be worth much more than a first year Aventador, case and point with Diablo 6.0 vs the 02 Murci after 5 years. The SV will be more raw and offer great "driver sensation" since that's what it was designed for. LP700 Aventador - If you want the newest car on the market, this is the car for you. It's more comfortable than the SV and more of a relaxed drive. It also has more technical speed than the SV (as far as numbers, though the SV has more "relative speed") and it's new styling is pretty outlandish. As far as collect-ability goes, it will be the first of many, and we know the folks at Lambo will have an "LP640-esque" upgrade coming later and hopefully an SV variant. As with most new cars, it's usually best to wait towards the end of the production run as the car will only get better. In the end it comes down to which car is more your style. For most, the Murci SV is too hardcore, to uncomfortable and just too much car. For them, the Aventador has more comfort, speed, and usability than the SV. But those that want something special, rare, and unhinged will gravitate towards the SV. If we're talking which will be a future collectable, well then the answer is clear: The limited edition, last of it's kind SV is going to be the collector's item over the first generation, base Aventador.
I found this on Wikipedia... maybe someone can chime in to confirm this... "However, only 186 LP 670-4s were produced before the factory had to make room for the new Aventador production line."
They are both excellent cars but very different. Long term the rarity of the SV will be a huge bolster to its value. They are definitely far fewer than 350 of them, probably somewhere in the 160's. It will also benefit from the ~$500k initial MSRP long term relative to the ~$400k Aventador MSRP. They are an absolute blast to drive. Very raw and very quintessentially Lamborghini. I love the lines of the car and all of the special touches. Technologically, the Aventador is probably the best car on the planet right now. I have driven about a dozen of them and the consistency and level of engineering in them is really impressive. It feels like a huge step forward and to me, there is nothing on the road that touches it. I drove this yellow car for a while yesterday and everything about the car is impressive - http://edbolian.com/?p=3626 Just like a Countach or Diablo, the Murcielago will always be salient and the SV will always be the best one. I think it is one of the best 20 year investment cars you could buy today.
With the manual box, it is an elusive modern car ! Demand will outstrip supply. Over the years, the 700, will significantly drop in value. The M (SV), with the manual box, will have a much softer landing, when it bottoms out.
I have a friend here in Austin selling his Matte Yellow SV: Underground Racing Twin-turbocharged: I think 1000rwhp on pump gas: very, very fast. Yes the Aventador is quick, but not like that. Mark
Nope, I do as well..and I would NOT even consider trading my Car #12 Lp670-4SV TRUE 6 speed car for a BRAND NEW Lp700 Aventador..not EVEN a straight across trade. I am over 15K on my SV and it runs better then ever..
