Man! Talk about being defensive! You can not prove one of my statements wrong. I never said I'd drive 275 miles to let someone judge our cars. That's retarded and you know it. Quit being argumentative and try being proactive in proving me wrong. You cant do it! Trying to invite me to a dinner you know is too far away to attend and then calling me out is just stilly. In fact, it's retarded! I'm not showing any colors but ORANGE! Show me that a black car sells for MORE! -Ben
You asked me to prove that the resale value on my black 6.0 was greater than your orange 6.0. I came up with a proposal. You declined. I asked you to prove your statements and, so far, you have proven SQUAT to me and everyone else on this board. No solutions, no proposals, no offer, no NOTHING. So let's go to Concorso Italiano and put our cars side by side. Roy Cats will be there and let him judge our cars. Can we agree that Monterey is comparable in distance from Las Vegas and south Orange County? Here again, I am proposing another solution. Are you up to the challenge? I know I am. When our cars are together, I will then show you a black car that sells for MORE!!!!!
There we go! Finally. You'll show me *a* black car that sells for more. Not that most black cars will usually sell for more than an Orange, or a Red, or a Yellow. That's what you cant prove brother! -Ben
You are unbelievable. Do you even read your posts in this thread? You asked me to prove to you that a black car sells for MORE and that's exactly what I would like to do. I will start with your orange "skittle" car first.
Order of preference Orange Yellow Whart's red Silver Anything else Reason i didnt put black in was because i am a firm believer that dark colours (I know, black isnt a colour, its a shade) really do not show off the lines of the car. However in saying that I do understand why a Lambo owner would go for such a colour because firstly, it is nice because its on a Lambo, secondly, like me i would try and be subtle when driving a Lambo and not seek to attract attention therefore if toning down the colour can create this subtlety (spellcheck) then so be it. To be honest, all you're 6.0's are absolutely stunning so stop arguing and just be glad you all have one of the sexiest cars in the friggin planet SITTING IN YOU'RE GARAGE! Regards, Matthew
OK I'll settle it with a picture or two! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
^^ wooooow! anywho, simple, get the Diablo....after the 200k+ spike in the summer ....when they drop back to the 170/180's, gawd I hope they do
Guys- Come to NY. I'll buy you all a real steak at Luger's or at my secret steakhouse (which happens to occasionally stock the odd 61 Margaux and happens to have a few 82 Bordeaux- but I ain't payin' for the wine or the whine). Bring your cars- who cares what color they are. I don't discriminate.
its hard but a murcie roadster really does take you mind away from the 6.0 --btw, off topic how do you guys feel about the 40th annivery murcie's? just wondering.-- here are the only JPG murcie vert pics i have right now. will get more tomm. i dont know what its is about these roadsters, but they make me feel like they are tied with number one cars out there that you can get your hands on (accessible) along with the porsche CGT. i would even take one of those two, over an enzo (granted they were the same price/ or i couldnt sell it/ or something that made there values' the same) if you know what i mean. http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMTIyMzM4NDZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx.jpg http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMTIyMzM4NTZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx.jpg http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMTIyMzM4NjZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx.jpg Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
People keep saying "simple ECON 101, blah blah blah, supply and demand, five less cars, yadda yadda yadda. . . " But the problem is that any intro economics course will teach you one big thing in particular: your product isn't the only thing out there; you have to look at the big picture, not at just one car. The vast majority of buyers aren't thinking "I want to buy a nice car, that means I just gotta have a Lamborghini Diablo 6.0." While nothing else is the same thing as a Lamborghini Diablo 6.0, an intro Econ course will teach you that there are "substitutes," and that products with substitutes have a much more elastic demand curve, and that as price goes up, the demand will shift to other products. Me and my pops were talking to another Lamborghini owner who said that he was very interested in the new Gallardo, but when he got to thinking about it he realized that for the money he could be looking at a couple year old Murcielago with only a few miles on it instead. That's called product substitution, and without knowledge of that you'd have a hard time passing any college-level Economics course. Why pay over two hundred thousand dollars for a 6.0 when you can have a Murcielago for less, or any other car for that matter? Sure the 25th anniversary Countach was a fantastic car and it differed supposedly in some 500 ways from the ones before it, but you don't see anyone who made a killing on it buying low and selling high after all these years.
I'll agree with Craig on one point: they're just cars. They are NOT assets. Mild appreciation is great, but anyone buying one wiht the expectation of making money on it should do themself a favor and buy a liquid CD or 10 year treasury. --Dan
AAAGGGHHH!!!!!! Where are the Standard 6.0 Wheels? - take those things off. 6.0 wheels are things of beauty.
Craigy- mine is not an Econ argument, but to answer your question, "Why pay over two hundred thousand dollars for a 6.0 when you can have a Murcielago for less,..." I faced just that choice, and bought the 6.0. Not as an academic exercise, or hypothetical, but, in actuality. What does that tell you? Perhaps that these cars are not fungible. (Didn't pay 200k though).
Totally agree, I truly think that the Murcie Roadster is the sexiest car on the planet. i must admit i take a r'ster over the 6.0 and pretty much any other car ever created if value didnt come into play. The 6.0 being a joint 2nd along with a couple of others because chossing between them is too hard. Long live the Murcie Roadster and heres hoping i get my hands on one some day. I have a cracking picture of one on my phone from Monaco, white with white wheels, just v unusual!
hey now......i am dectecting some friendly fire directing toward this corner of the room !!!!! common guys, chris's black 6.0 looks stealth and stunning. i'd be honored to have it if i have the mean. ben's orange 6.0 is absolutely jaw dropping and i'd love to have it too if i didn't already have an orange one..... tomf-1 "i love all 6.0 the same....differently"
Oh and forgot to say but i really do not like the 40th anniv. Murcie. Just doesnt do it for me at all
The problem I have with the Murcielago Roadster is the interior -- It needs a lot of spice still. The LP460 interior is quite nice, once that migrates into the roadster then I'll have a winner to me! -Ben
I didnt really enjoy it...until however i laid my eyes on this one with roadster rims...really does add some exoticness that its missing and i wouldnt shy away from gettin it one day if and only if it came with these rims... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/rush109/Lamborghini20Murcielago20577.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/rush109/Lamborghini20Murcielago20573.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/rush109/Lamborghini20Murcielago20574.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/rush109/Lamborghini20Murcielago20572.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/rush109/Lamborghini20Murcielago20568.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/rush109/Lamborghini20Murcielago20571.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/rush109/Lamborghini20Murcielago20569.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/rush109/Lamborghini20Murcielago20575.jpg
Can't believe what a dramatic difference a set of wheels makes. Gotta love the funky interior combo too. Nice car!
Whart , i couldn't agree more. I went through the same thing three years ago. I could have bought either the murci or the 6.0. After driving and looking at both cars i went with the 6.0. It had nothing to do with money . It was the car i wanted so that is what i went with and i would make that same decision today. Also a side note .... Besides the recent addition of the roadster, the 6.0's sticker listed for more than the murci.
Concerning reliability, I would say Murcielago. The first cars had basically the same trouble-prone front lifting system as the Diablos but the later cars have a new improved set-up. The murcielago is also less sensitive to build-up in the throttle bodies which causes idling problems. Virtually no part is interchangeable. Wil
Hey, this one is not a 40th I've talked with the owner, nice guy, very passionate. He has a Gallardo, a 6.0 and a VT +SV (both Affolter).
