Ok so I will keep this short. I was looking for a new toy to entertain me and went and looked at and drove ALL the supercars out there. I wanted something entertaining that was fun even if you were not going 150 mph.
I started with the McLaren 12C and then went to the Ford GT and after various Ferrari's. I then moved on to looking at Lamborghini Diablo's and felt although beautiful, brutal and fast that I may not end up liking the driving dynamics or the interiors of them. I ended up standing in front of a Murcielago LP640 Roadster in Verde Ithaca green and was stunned at how lovely a car it was. However, I felt the green was a little much for me and wanted a more subtle color on such a flamboyant automobile. I ended up buying a Baloon White (pearlescent) 2008 LP640 Roadster from O'Gara Coach in Beverly Hills.
I just did a 150 mile drive today in my car and all I can say is WOW.
How can these cars that sold for 400k new be only 180k now?
Most fun car I have EVER owned! (I have owned a lot of cars)

I really like Aventadors but I doubt it would be ''one to keep'' over a Murcielago. The Murcie's still have a whiff of old school about them, especially with that beautiful gearstick if you opt for a manual. I think the Murcielago gearstick looks better than Ferrari has integrated them for some reason. A very manly shift.

Congrats on your new car...love the Roadsters!

How strange people are, I remember when I purchased my LP640 new in 08 people saying that the last true and wild Lambo was the Diablo and the Murci was not a real Lamborghini but an Audi made in Italy.
Now that the A has been out a few years seems things may be changing with regard to that.
Will be interesting in the future when electric is the primary power mode of cars what they will say about the old and wicked Aventador or its replacement with an old school ICE?

By the way I commend you on the choice of color, mine is also balloon white with black wheels and still stuns me every time I see it.

Yeah, I've heard it was the Countach, then the Diablo, now it's the Murcielago. In 5 more years you won't believe how raw the Aventador is because the next generation won't let the driver input anything! Or are we already there?

I agree that these are stunning cars. Especially in the Roadster version.

Most people I suspect still feel this way.....not only the Audi made in Italy part but designed by a Belgian

I have driven a few L cars. I thought the Murcielago was a lot of fun. A good used Murcielago is a bargain. ^^^Congrats on the purchase :).

I have a 2006 Murcie Roadster, and I couldn't agree more....a blast to drive, really easy to drive, gets more attention than any car I have ever driven ( sometimes not good!), solid and has never needed a thing other than routine maintenance...absolutely love it !!

Audi made or not (on a Murcielago, I don't see any parts that have been taken from the Audi parts bin on the exterior or interior), it's just a byword for ''it'll ****ing work''. Had they stuck with chrysler/horrid indonesian bosses nothing would ever work, and, more importantly, Lamborghini wouldn't exist anymore.

I think Audi is great for Lamborghini. Gallardo/Huracan they might share some common parts, and it's necessary, but at least the V12 Lamborghini's are proper lamborghini's and not Audi TT's with a different badge glued on it.

Congrats and welcome to the dark(est) side! I've said many times my dream Murci Roadster is a manual gearbox white LP640 (a unicorn to be sure given the gearbox/640/roadster combo). That color is perfect for those of us wanting to own a semi-sane colored one, otherwise verde ithaca is unbeatable :D

I believe V12 Lambos are for those who have sampled what the world has to offer and have finally found that eccentric and special car that makes sense at this stage in their car enthusiast lives. I think people who drive them before getting their fill in more traditional areas will not get it...

Congratulations! It looks very beautiful. And agree with you. Murcielago it is the last wild Lambo, especially the SV version of it.

Late models Diablo's are not raw, Audi sure didn't make the Murcielago more so. Go drive an early Diablo, then tell me the Murci is raw.

    Congratulations on your new Murcielago,

I have a 2009 and I have been very happy with it, mine is the E-Gear but wish I would of gotten it in Manual in the first place.

They're all nice but I'd drive my Aventador over my Countach in a heartbeat
