    €1500 apiece when made.
    Aged 3 years? €3000.

They got hammered in the earthquake a few years ago. Needless to say, shelves are now crossbraced and secured to ceiling beams. Fingers crossed.

Another interesting point? Zero waste. Water drained from cheeses is used for ricotta.

Is anyone still following this thread? I'm very curious if anyone has any more details on the aforementioned 408 4RM exhibit. There wasn't any kind of captioning nor any of the AWD components on display when I was there in 2004, and it wasn't on display at all when I was there in 2010, but I've always been curious about the details of the AWD system.

That is the car that had two separate chassis numbers, all on the same frame.
    ZFFBX37X0H0070183 and ZFFBX37X0K0078610.

If you are looking for information in literature:
    Sport Auto, 12/1987 (german magazine)
    Road & Track, 12/1988
    Ferrari Story, #16 1988
auto motor und sport, #14, July 1987 (!) (german magazine)
Ferrari 348 by Werner Schruf, 1990, Motorbuch Verlag (Germany)

    Interesting:
Several sources (including Galeria Ferrari) say, year of manufacture is 1988.
Actually I have 2 articles which show, that the car (the red one) already existed in mid 1987.
