    I just found a bunch of songs performed by the same band that I used to go country dancing to every Saturday night out in Big Spring in the late 50 s and early 60 s before I discovered my rock days. Hoyle Nix and the West Texas Cowboys and Bob Wills and the Light Crust Doughboys were all about the same time and then Jody Nix followed in his dads footsteps and is still performing Texas Swing today.....True traditional Texas Country music......Not the country music we hear on the radio today.....

    I have known Jody for ages but never thought to look him up on Youtube.......Brings back all kinds of memories and he is still loving performing........But gosh is a lot older now than I remember him being,,,,,,but then I guess I should look in the mirror myself,,,but then again, maybe not....

    I know a lot of you will bring up Bob Wills, Charlie Daniels, Asleep at the Wheel and a host of others but I do not know them personally but I do know Jody well.........

    You are right. His dad Hoyle Nix built it in when it was out in the country on the Snyder Highway in Big Spring. Bob Wills used to play there about every two months until he had his stroke. Scooted many a boot on that old dance floor........

    This is a photo of The Stampede. Over 60 years old and going strong. They have never refinished the dance floor, just pound down a nail every once in a while.....
