Was thinking about this today, what places and events should every Ferrari enthusiast try attend, may be a nice thread for dreamers like me to start planning how to attend these events.

1: Factory: just visting the home must be an event in itself, the history and just being at the very hear of Ferrari, everyone I know that been has described it as a very special experience.

2: Italian GP: The atmosphere among the Tifosi.

3: Cavallino Classic: Every year I look at the coverage on this forum and I know its something I need to attend.

4: Monterey Car Week: Looks to be very special

    5: Mille Miglia: Just epic

    6: Historic Targa Florio

    7: Historics as Spa

Those are what immediately come to mind but I am sure there are others.

Ferrari Challenge. Especially those weekends that correspond with Ferrari Racing Days and/or F1 race weekends

The French Quarter Classic was a must back when it was an annual event. Sadly, it no longer exists.

Ferrari Racing Days in Germany was also a must go event. There used to be more then 1000 Ferraris in the paddocks. But somehow this event doesn't take place anymore... :(

The Modena Track Days are some kind of compensation, smaller but with a lot of nice racers.

If you are in the US, and you can only make one event, make sure it is Speed Week in Monterrey. I know of no other circumstance where there exists such a wide range of events for car enthusiasts of every marque and era.

For the tifosi, we have the Concorso Italiano, easily one of the best Italian-themed shows in the US.

The Concours d'Elegance at Pebble Beach is sure to have some spectacular, multi-million dollar Ferraris on display this year as it is celebrating the development of the Ferrari 250 GTO!

The historic racing a Laguna Seca raceway is like walking back into time. And since the paddock is open to the public, you have a chance to not only get close to the vehicles, but to meet the owners and caretakers of these superb pieces of automotive history. It's so much better than a museum. Imagine your reaction as you hear a Maserati birdcage fire up or a Porsche 917? Magical.

And, if you plan your trip correctly, you'll build in a couple of extra days to drive at least a portion of the famous Pacific Coast Highway 1, the most scenic highway in the US. My wife and I always arrive early and drive a convertible from San Jose down to Santa Barbara to stay with friends. Then we head back up the coast to Carmel where we will stay the entire week.

It's extraordinary. I really cannot overstate what an amazing time you will have.

The only "downside" are the crowds in Carmel and Monterrey. You have to kind of accept that there lots of people, everywhere, all the time. It gets a little tiresome by the end of the week, but the cars and experiences are well worth it.

I think your list 1 to 4 are or have been on mine.

I did the tour of the car and F1 factory. It was amazing! Got to meet and see Michael on the track there.

Usually I begin the year with a visit to the Tour Auto in France in April, followed by the Mille Miglia in May (always including a stay in Maranello).

In the past the Spa Ferrari Days at Spa-Francorchamps were a must but this event no longer excists. However this year I have my hopes set on the Spa Francorchamps classic event at the end of May and particularly on the Trofeo Nastro Rosso. The event is organized by Patrick Peter of Tour Auto and the old Ferrari Historic Challenge fame. Should be good.

It seems that the Silverstone Classic event is also gathering momentum and reminiscent of the Coys Historic Festival of the old days.

Modena Track Days in June are a must (once every two years though).

Le Mans Classic is still on my 'to do' list as are the Historic races at Monaco (both also once every two years).

Goodwood Revival in September offers so much to see and the number of Ferraris is usually very good.

Before I purchase my first Ferrari, I plan to learn Italian in the summer in Italy and visit the Ferrari factory and museum! Figure would be great to have at least some basic language ability in Italian to appreciate the Ferrari even more.

My family and I went to the FCA National meet in Elkhart Lake in 2009. Not much better to a Ferrari fanatic like myself than staying at hotel which has a parking lot overrun with Ferrari's. 275 GTB's, one-off 250 Drogo bodied car, 250 GT Cab's, an F40, 365 BB, 512 BB's, Prunga 308 (A favorite of mine), TR's and all the new models as well. At night the small time street's are littered w/Ferrari's cruising around.

Being there and enjoying it with my at the time expecting wife and my folks was literally heaven on earth!!!
