Alain de Cadenet video "Spitfire Haircut" short, but heartfelt.....(not family-approved.....) http://www.sportscarmarket.com/inmotion/ It's on You Tube if you can't work the SCM link......
Excellent! Reminds me of an airshow I saw in Bangor Maine in the early 90's. Some doctor (or something) handed the keys (so to speak) of his P51 to Chuck Yeager amid much fanfare. Chuck climbed in and took off . I was expecting a show but he just climbed out fairly flat and disappeared. Then the golden knights jumped and we all forgot about chuck. Next thing we hear is the merlin as chuck flies a few feet over the crowd from behind. It was the most amazing thing I have heard and felt to date (from an airplane). He then pulled up into a graceful aileron roll. Chuck still had it just before he retired. dave
Wow, nice low approach. The sensation of speed just above the ground must have been something incredible. Here is the same video on youtube (the scm link has a different video replacing the old one). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmR-A-yJknw Here is a screen snapshot just before the spitfire goes by: Image Unavailable, Please Login
