The porche we want to buy is a 911R pref without centerlocks., but since VW is apparently disdainful of customers in general, the most desireable porche is not available outside of the 700 chosen. Its ridiculous.

2017 specs have been released, track pack is now standard, and three new colors, ruby red, grabber blue, and lightning blue. Comp orange and deep impact blue dropped.

Agreed. The 911R is a joke-just a token for their chosen few. The Viper Aero and Camaro begin to make more and more sense for those that actually venture beyond the local poseur-a-thon venues.

Yesterday I ordered my 2017, ruby red, black roof, no stripes, electronics package 350.

Paying sticker, no markup. Now the hard part, the wait.

    Agreed.

I was just thinking I should put up a poll in order to determine if the membership finds his "One Take" videos worthwhile.

Hopefully, the DRIVE video he's put together on the 350R will be better.

Nice and congrats! I also have a 2017 allocation for an R. I also want red but trying to decide between the 2 avaivalble red colors. What is the difference between between the Race Red vs. Ruby Red? Any pic of the 2 red colors side by side for comparison? Also, it looks like from the build sheet for both red colors, the stripe is only an option for the 350 and not the 350R? If I can not get the stripe for either red color than I would get the black roof also.

At my dealer(I'm #1 on waiting list outside 918 owners), all 3 911Rs are reserved for the 3 918 owners who already expressed their wish to take them.
All 3 cars are already promised to not be delivered but turned around to go back to showroom with at least $100k premium.

The "Ruby Red Metallic" color looked absolutely fantastic on my son's 2015 Mustang!

I think it's closer to Rosso Corsa.

I wonder how hard it is to get an R in the UK and how much over sticker the R is over there?

Certainly one of the best. I've stated before, I'm not a Ford fan. And while that's a petty statement, I've never been excited by a lot of their offerings.

This is a car I want - everything about it seems to be well thought out and appealing. The reviews validate this.

My only question is why Ford is limiting production (I believe they are, was discussed in this thread)? Seems they can't keep them on the lots, demand is extremely high.

It's priced on the money - dealer mark up be damned. I was literally sitting in the doctor's office this morning (my wife's post-op visit) thinking of how I could trade in my Kia and maybe sell one of my other cars (308QV, Jag XJS-V12, and Jag E-Type) to get a GT350 (I don't need the "R").

I'd rather not sell my 308 or E-Type, but I do want a GT350, and I would strongly consider creative (legal) means to get one!!!

I was browsing asking prices for GT 350 and GT 350R just the other day...

Regular GT 350s - the asking prices range from $65-85k (or about $10-30k over sticker). Quite a broad range and there seemed to be plenty of supply available with delivery mileage.

The GT 350R on the other hand, I think I saw maybe 2 listed online. The asking price that sticks out in my head was $125k which is basically double the MSRP for the R. C'mon boys...really?!?

I think that unless Ford suddenly constrains how many regular GT 350s they're making - you'll probably be able to get one at MSRP by Fall. The "R" on the other hand is anybody's guess which way it'll go.

My guess it's the somewhat bespoke engine, only used in the 350.

Could be they've set it in the market as an affordable halo car based on a business case with limited production, given the expensive parts used (engine and the cf wheels).

    Great car by the way.
