This is the dyno sheet from a few weeks ago. We stopped at 7800 because does not have many miles since its rebuild so I think it have maybe a few more HP to be gained at 8250. Image Unavailable, Please Login

They said they would take one. Will find out. The guy who did the dyno was not in the shop today.

    Any mods to the car?

Ported heads and intake, GruppeM intake, custom 4-2-1 headers, Goth exhaust and exhaust valve, Hyperflow cats, complete blueprinted engine with slightly bigger pistons.
Piggy back computers to change fuel and ignition timing. Cams advanced and ignition advanced, fuel trimmed below 5000rpm.

What EMS are you using? You mention plural; are you using more than one?

Just spent $45,000 on that engine and parts. Playing it safe until it gets more miles. Happy with
the numbers and knowing it has maybe a little more.

You would have ran it 1 rpm past somehow

You mentioned that, just don’t think miles matter, especially if it already saw wide open throttle and 7800rpm.

I tune fresh engines almost every day and they see max load/rpm after just a few heat cycles.

Just my opinion! But yes seems like it was still climbing (as it should)

When they dyno a car you sign a waiver. They are not responsible for anything that happens to your car on the dyno. Been through engine rebuild with this car once before, never want to do it again and the reason for the dyno was to check AFR at different rpm to see if the computers needed any tuning.

Right, I just don't see how cutting it a few hundred rpm from peak hp is going easy on it or saving anything? Just a difference in opinion I suppose, not trying to convince you otherwise.

Glad you have it sorted out :)

I guess I can see why you wouldn't want to commit to 8750 rpm if your not sure if the a/f ratio and timing are spot on yet. Run a little lean or too advance and your could learn a very expensive mistake.

They did a similar thing when tuning my CTS-V. I was running ~15psi and so they made a few baseline runs to see if it was close before it saw WOT at redline. Once they were confident it was getting enough fuel, then the ran the hell out of it. that was a scary car

I think his setup only has fuel control. You watch the wideband while making a run on the dyno so if it starts trailing lean you lift. But yes, common to work up to it.

    Very cool.

What types of engine management did you consider before deciding on a dual Unichp ?

I was not the one who decided which one to use. The installer was familiar with the computer and its tuning. Its simple and can use the stock sensors. If money was no object I would go Motec.

Probably because Toda wants $12,500 just for the crank.

Are you going to mod the Gruppe M intake ?

I think so If I can find a velocity stack that fits. I am going to look into the air filters with the built in velocity stack that you posted previously when I get the car out in spring. The high end did not seem to suffer on the dyno with the current setup. Atul who posted the modified Gruppe M used a Dynapak dyno which reads higher than a Mustang. I think I am close to what he was seeing, so hard to tell if I am losing much top end.
