Does anyone know what the dealer invoice is for a 2005 MV Agusta F4 1000S? A friend of mine is trying to purchase one in CA and the dealer will not move off the $21,495 list price. What is a good price for this bike?

    $21,495.

It is doubtful that you will see anything more than a couple of hundred bucks off of MSRP as a token gesture. Until they sit at the dealers until the end of the model year they will probably want full MSRP for a new model like this. With that said I doubt there will be many sitting in dealers at the end of the year, it is significantly improved from the 750. Another alternative for your friend would be to try to haggle some free gear like a helmet or gloves. That might work.

It is also doubtful you will ever see rebates or incentives from MV on them either. The best buy would be a used or leftover 750 if he wants to pay less.

Nice bike, but VERY expensive. A member of our club just bought one and he is a talented, experienced rider. I was right behind him on a club ride. I waited until it was an obvious time for him to roll into the throttle, and revved to the lower end of the power band on my 2003 R1, (about 7000 rpm). When he got on his throttle, I went straight to WOT. This can be a frieghtening experience on the R1. I didn't run up on him at all, it was basically dead even. That is a FAST bike!

Waiting for the newness to wear off, may not help either ? They will probably raise the price next year ? The current MSRP was probably adressed when the dollar was alot stronger.

If you get $500.00 you are lucky.

I took delivery of my MV Agusta 1000 AGO this summer. Prior to the MV, I owned a number of bikes. I started with a 1987 Honda Hurricane 600, then a 1994 Honda CBR 900RR, then a 1998 CBR 900RR, then a Ducati 996, then a Ducati 998 and finally the MV.

The Ago is more performance oriented than the 1000S. It actually comes with a chip and race pipes. It develops 166 horsepower and is so amazingly fast and the handling is so amazingly spot on that I don't think anyone anywhere could do any better. It cost $25,495.00 The retail is $25,995.00 so I echo the previous sentiments that you may be able to get a few hundred off but no more. They are simply too exclusive and there will always be another buyer.

This bike is amazing and I would say, in a moment, anyone considering it, better know how to ride and ride well. Things can get out of hand in the blink of an eye. I have taken professional track riding instruction and practice every chance I get. It is a lot of money but it is also alot of bike. It gets my hands down recommendation. Brother Bruce has seen it first hand as well as my exit wheelie!! ;)

Here are some pictures from delivery day.

I have about 800 miles on it and then I ran out of season so I have to wait 'til spring 2005. Lots of miles this year as I have found a group of MV riders that are local to me!! I also have two close friends that have bikes as well.

Gorgeous bike. I've never seen an MV in the flesh, only in pictures so I'm very curious about the sound compared to the Ducati and the Japanese makes. I love the Japanese sound, it's like a miniature Ferrari. The Ducati sound does little for me until it's in the high RPMs. How does the MV compare?

Also, which MV would you recommend as a first bike? I've been thinking about one since I saw pictures for the first time, and then I read reviews of it. It sounds like the motorcycle equivalent to Ferrari.

    Many thanks,

    Cavallini

Oh my! Thanks for the link. Other than the Ducati 996, the MVs must be the most beautiful bikes ever made.

Just noticed this thread, i dont come on this bit much, i have a F4100, i have had it for the last few months, also i still have my F4 750 that i have had for three years which is now painted and badged in the same Ferrari F1 livery as the bike above. In fact i asked anyone on this site last year for pics of the bike becourse they are rocking horse Sh*t. They were built under the instruction of Ferrari to celebrate Ferraris championship win, only two were made. One was for the ferrari president.
Anyway the bike was complete in november 04, it was done knowing that my F4100 was on the way in its rosso and silver colours, though i did want a Tamborini special edition but that would have involved selling my F4 750 and i had plans for that.
