I own a 04 F360 Spider, it was not used for about 14 months (long story), was not started. When I recently installed a new battery and fired it up it started fine, i let it run for a bit then drove it around the block, tried starting it the next day with no luck.

The engine turnes over but it won't fire. Pulled out all the fueses and relays, one at a time, cleaned the contacts and put them back, still no luck, anyone have any helpful ideas before taking it in and getting my pocket raped?

Bad gas may have everything gummed up?

Ok, thought that was an option, should i check the fuel filter? where is it located? how would i dump the gas or flush the system clean?

You don't want to go there!!
That filter is just at the bottom on the gas tank and trying to get access to it a real mission!
Get the car to the mechanic so he can hook up a sd2 and make some tests.

thats what i have planned, dont want to mess with it to much but if i can do some trouble shooting myself before why not.

thinking about it, if it was bad gas it would start and run rough, could it be relays, fuel pump relay or some control module?

If you really want to fix it yourself, it could be an onion. I dont think this is what you want, I think you want to know if there are any "quick" things you can check before you go through the expense of trucking it to the dealer.

    SIMPLE:
    1. Disconnect the battery for 20min and try the process again.
    2. Check relays:
    A. Fuel Pump
    B. Ignition Circuit
    3. Try and start it 5 times for 2-3 sec each taking 30second breaks (as not to overheat the starter), then smell the exhaust. Do you smell unburnt fuel?
    4. Buy some fuel-stabelizer or water-remover from your local auto parts store and treat your tank with a double or triple dose. After the treatment wait 2-3 hours then try to start repeatedly taking 30sec breaks to let the starter cool. You may have to try 10-15 times to get the "clean" fuel through the system.

    IN DEPTH:
    1. Pull a spark plug, pick the easiest to get to. Then verify spark. This should be done with care, its 50K+ volts. The COPs (Coil Over Packs) will need to be plugged in, and the plug will need to be grounded at the threads. I usually use a jumper cable or clip wire to ground the plug. One side on the threads of the plug, one on the frame ground (not easy to find in the engine bay of the 360 for a novice). Then have user A try and start it and user B looks for spark at the plug. Is there spark?
    2. During the spark check air/fuel will be pumped out of the plug hole. Smell it, does it smell like fuel?
    3. Connect an expensive OBDII reader that has "live data" and report all readings at ign-on and ign-trying-to-crank. Remember not to overheat your starter. Short start intervals, reading only one parameter at a time. Its important not to do more damage trying to troubleshoot.
    4. Disconnect both MAFs and try and start the car. The ECU should go into "limp" mode and start anyway, but it will run poorly. Full-disclosure I am not positive about the 360 bosche system, but most bosche systems will have a limp mode for failed MAFs.

Information is power. Give us everything you hear, smell, and see!
