Was going to say 'STAGE90' but that's 7 letters. Could be 'AGE90' by the time you get it!! ;)

That's brilliant. Not the one I chose, but a great alternate...

In order to advance the guessing contest process, I thought it might be helpful to show a mockup of the license plate.

I hope this doesn't give away too much, the contest IS ongoing...

Thanks, Lime1. I just realized that I've been looking at this "Stage 90" thing ALL wrong...

From a pure English language perspective, I have regrettably been calling it "ninety", which is rather innocent and non-threatening.

What I SHOULD have realized is, for me, THIS time, it turns out to be a little more GERMAN-English.

It's not "ninety", or "nine - oh", it's actually become "nein...zero"

Nein: The german way of saying "no" or "never".

    NEVER! ... ZERO!

NOW it makes more sense in my case... ;)

Well, Tom, I hate to say it, but you won't have a chance to submit your second guess, the contest just closed early. :(

I must say that 41053 was a very good guess.

It was the best guess so far...

It was, in fact, a very, very good guess, because it is correct. 41053.

    Nicely done. :)

I'll allow you the honors of explaining the meaning and the clues, if you so choose...

I have to say, there was no face palm for me when I read this. I am obviously lacking in Ferrari lore and await the explanation...

The key was subtlety... the simplicity of it will be apparent...

I agree, it is simple and very cool, and an excellent idea for a number. How about instead of me explaining it, people try to guess what the number means?

I'm afraid that's too easy! You just need to know about Italian post or zip codes! It was going to be my sensible guess after AGE90 but I was beaten to it. The clues gave it away. BTW my 6 year old son was filming with Benedict Cumberbatch a couple of weeks ago for the next series of The Hollow Crown. Just a walk on part probably for 10 seconds if that but a great experience for him. :)

Yes. Postal Code for Maranello, home base, the launching point.

That's of course why is has been POSTED more than any licence plate ever... ;)

Now if only my car can complete the trip from that postal code to MY postal code...

Back to cavallino counting... Has anyone taken delivery with:

    SMOKERS’ KIT
The kit consists of an aluminium ashtray positioned inside the front cup-holder and a cigarette lighter in the space under the armrest on the tunnel.
    Smokers’ kit
    (Modis Code SMOK)

If so, any cavallinos in or on the tray or lighter handle?

Voting for CCC still not closed... Look, I'm diligent! ;)

I, myself, did not order the interior Smokers Kit. But I will, some day soon, be making liberal use of the exterior smokers kit... :)

Ferrari in their wisdom to aid us in our memory that we are driving a Ferrari, has placed a cavalino on each piece of glass on the car. this way while you are driving and looking out the window , it is a gentle reminder of what car you are driving :)
