I see the guy that bought my 1990 348 TS is now selling it. Selling it for an extremely premium price in my opinion. I sold it to him early last year for a little under $40,000. But in my opinion he is not disclosing all the facts in this eBay auction. The fact is that I did drive it less than 1000 miles in the 6 years after the last major that was performed by Continental Motorsports in Chicago prior to me buying it from Continental Motorsports about 7-8 years ago. In my opinion he is not disclosing that this last major service was performed almost 8 years ago. For that price, in my opinion, it should have a major service performed by an authorized Ferrari dealer in the last several months or less. In my opinion he is looking for a buyer that does not know that much about Ferrari's. I do not see any information in the description stating it has had another major service prior to the one 7-8 years ago.

Thanks for the heads up, Rodney. Whenever anyone mention the mileage covered since the last major but doesn't include the date the service was performed I assume that a major is due, but I'll bet not everyone does that.

Did you offer the car here for a while? I remember a car like it that had gutted converters but also came with used converters, and it had a couple of other upgrades. Just wondering if it's the same car.

Welcome to the World of advertising!

All the seller is doing is avoiding putting information in their advert that might put people off showing an interest in the car.

They're not lying about the information about the car (with the exception of: "Has the rear wheel spacer upgrade that come on newer 348's for better handling" - Later cars did not use spacers, the wheels carried a different offset instead), they're openly stating that they have no problem with a third party inspection being carried out (which would highlight the service history of the car), and there's no evidence to suggest that the seller is not being open about the service history when asked.

I would be amazed if anyone would spend @ £63K on any car and not ask about/look into it's service history, and if they didn't inquire about the history, then a part of Me thinks: "More fool you!" TBH.

I understand your concern, but to the letter of the Law, the car is not being misrepresented.

Anyone who doesn't ask for proof (service records) of when the last major was done, irrespective of mileage since major was done, is an easy target.

So basically you sold it too cheap in a rising market, are now kicking yourself, so trying to spoil the sale of the car a number of years later?

Absolutely spot on. I don't think it's right for the OP to insinuate that the seller was being less than honest about the car. The statement that "For that price, in my opinion, it should have a major service performed by an authorized Ferrari dealer in the last several months or less. In my opinion he is looking for a buyer that does not know that much about Ferraris" is quite uncalled for.

That is absolutely what it sounds like. Good for the new seller anyone buying any F car would ask about last service.
