Funny…I put a deposit on one of the 3 pedal SuperAmericas. I found it on FChat about 12 years ago. The guy was selling at his cost ($205k) cause he was buying a house. The day I signed to buy the car my friend asked me if I would allow him to buy it instead? I said yes since he was a friend and customer. My friend sold it years later for $700k to the WeatherTech owner. Oh well. At least I am a good friend!!
No Thank You .... If it makes you happy you can keep posting negative stuff I don't care your opinion means nothing to me !
not posting anything negative, i have zero interest or a horse in this race, sorry if stating that the market is the market appears negative to you....you're right and i'm wrong, i'm sure it will sell for your asking price immediately since thats the price the "community quoted"
I'd say your getting some advice that may cost you considerable amount of money. We are going into the fall where values typically drop 10-15%. Market is dropping, plus fall, if you don't sell now it may cost you that 10-15 percent. If the economy keeps going down, it may cost you more. You can fix a lot of things with these cars, one thing you can't fix or change is bad history or miles. Miles are a big part of cars value, no matter condition. Your basically looking for the one guy who is willing to pay 30-40 percent more for a car that has double-triple the miles, but in maybe better condition. Or the one guy that just has to have it no matter the value. They are out there. If you are ok with waiting for that one guy(if he exists), or ok with keeping it, go for it. If you want the best chance to get top dollar in the next year, I'd maybe do a real market analysis. People in this group are fanatics, and typically fanatics are not honest on the value of what they are fanatical about. Think Donald trump fanatics, or Biden fanatics... neither is a great choice. No matter what it's a great car. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I've often thought that Forums are some of the worst places to sell something for just this reason. Be it Rennlist or whatever the prices are usually above market or a "honey the car IS for sale". FWIW it is a nice car.
$99k Sight unseen, no inspection, hand delivered Benjamins (assuming I don’t get locked up with the Po-Po thinking I’m a drug dealer).
You my friend live in a much more complicated world than mine...... Mine is very simple Iv'e had the perfect car 15 years I have been a perfect custodian of this car.. I don't care about anything else! Somebody will appreciate this car for what it is a beautiful example of a 550... A perfect service history perfect owner ! The only thing that makes any sense to me is (No matter what it's a great car) that it is
Love high milage Ferrari best of luck with the sale, car looks amazing. Could be a guilt free cruiser for someone.
Just my 2 cents. Mileage is not a deterrent in these cars. It's an advantage. I have owned 2 of them. One had 53K miles on it when I sold it. The other had 16K. Guess which one ran better. I bought the 16K mile car, which appeared in pristine condition and as soon as I started driving it things went wrong to the tune of about $17K in major repairs. While Bill's car has considerable mileage he has been an amazing custodian of this car. I spoke to him about the car. Bill is a gentleman and was completely transparent about the history of the car and the meticulous car it has received under his ownership. For someone looking to get into the Ferrari market with a car that will be iconic in the near future (my opinion), this is a good place to start.
Very good points. It was not when I picked up my '88 3.2. Then again, it was fresh off of getting $60K+ worth of attention. Funny that 250K miles on a Toyota 4Runner that has had regular maintenance is never an issue but God forbid seeing 100K+ on a Ferrari!
What a car! Immaculate condition and driven 3,600 miles per year seems like perfect ownership to me. But folks do love to fork over vast sums for worn bolsters and break pedals as long as the ODO reads sub 20. Good thing there are no shady sellers out there who’d clock their cars to inflate the value
