How about the check engine light? The sensor for this emits a given resistance when the O2 is at the specified level at the sensor. Has anyone tried to add a resistor to the wiring on the sensor to simulate the correct resistance when the cat is missing?

This is what is done with other cars. It would seem to ba a simple thing to figure out:

measure the resistance at two operating conditions 1) with cats in place, 2) with cats out. The difference between these values is the size of the resistor needed.

    I don't know, just thinking.

I have purchased tubi headers, cat bypass and exhaust for my euro 355. Installation in 1-2 weeks, looking forward!

PS: how do I post a video?

Can't wait to hear it out! I will have a video of the NAPerformance headers on a Tubi exhaust sometime mid next week and it'd be nice to compare the sound difference! Keep us updated.

    Kevin,

I'm just completing the installation of hyper-flow cats coupled w/ Tubi exhaust any option regarding this stage? Leave it alone or consider other modifiactions. I've seen your thread pertaining to your headers.

    What's your thought?

    Stephen,

Congratulations on the hyper-flow, tubi install, I bet you're having a blast driving the car. I'd consider other modifications if I were you. Obviously your stock headers are fine so no need to order mine for the replacement purpose. We should be dyno'ing Lusso64's car with the headers mid next week so I will have a gain for you. If my headers gain 5-6whp then it'd be pretty pointless to pay that much for them when your factory units are fine. But say my headers gain 15whp+ it'd definantely be worth the money as you'd gain a nice amount of hp and have a more reliable system witha life time warranty.

I also notice you have the 5.2 version, we are having a special on our 5.2 headers since they are not in production yet for $2,499.99. We plan on starting on them as soon as possible but I'm not sure if they'll be done before the end of June. More likely mid July.

Anyways lets wait until next week and see what kind of dyno-gain my headers put down before we make a decision. I'm extremely excited as my fabricator believes at least 20whp but I don't want to promise anything yet!

    Forza,
    Kevin

Where did you get it from?
I have been thinking of a Tubi exhaust (mufflers only i guess?) for my 355.

If any of you sell them, can you tell me what the total cost of the exhaust shipped to Kuwait would be?

I don't sell Tubi anymore but freight alone will be an easy $500.00 to Kuwait. I shipped an HKS Ti exhaust for a mkiv Supra to Kuwait and payed about $430.00. As far as the price of the exhaust itself this will vary depending on who you purchase it from. Shop around on prices.

By the way I highly recommend a Capristo on an F355, I can get you one of them if you're interested drop me a line at [email protected]

    Forza,
    Kevin

    How about an experiment:

When I get my car back I'll disconnect the aft 02 sensor and measure the reistance (my factory cats are still good). I'll post it in this thread.

Someone with test pipes can do the same with their 02 sensor. Thereafter the purchase of a resistor (likely less than one dollar) and installation into the sensor wire will likely kill the check engine code.

As I understand it, the oxygen sensor generates a small voltage when operating in the hot (above 572 F) exhaust. Voltage output from around .15 V to .75 V represents a normal mixture. You’ll need two resisters per each of the four O2 sensors to create voltage dividers between ground and +12 V to fake out the ECU.

The thermocouple varies its resistence based on the temperature. In this case you’ll want to do a similar thing but with approximately 4 V going to the ECU. I think that will fake him into thinking the cats are at 800F. If you leave the thermocouple ECUs in place, you might be able to use one resister connected to each.

Also, I believe you'll need an OBD II scanner to turn off the check engine light.
