I have code 1211 Lamda regulation that follows the MAF around. I need a new MAF, or a replacement, or someone who knows how to fix it. Any suggestion?
Saab part replacement. Go to a junk yard. On the 348? Or was it a Volvo part? Whatever, search on the part number.
Ah, again isn't that a Volvo/Saab/Porsche part? I will check on it. Thought it was the same as the 348 0280212018 Saab 9000 1990-1992 2.0 liter turbo 8v and 16v Can you get the part number off it so I can search the Bosch application database?
The BOSCH catalogue actually specifies 0 280 213 023 for Ferrari 355 05.1994 10.1995. Then again, it appears that 012 is interchangeable with 023 and 025 (but I am not sure). Anyhow, the 012 is available from Saabs & Volvos: Image Unavailable, Please Login
OK, so the used MAF from a Saab showed up, put it on, and ran the car. The 1211 codes showed up again, on a different bank, and no longer followed any MAF. Eff it. I got tired of chasing ghosts, so I put everything back to the way it was, changed 1 coolant temp sensor (because I have it, but I don't think the old one is bad). Ran the car, a 1211 code came back, revved the engine and the code went away. It even idles at 1000rpm. I am closing this patient back up, and declaring it a phantom code. It needs an Italian tune up, that is all.
Two. On eon each side of the oil filter. Also, MAF = NAPA remanufactured NEC XTP410248. Check for vacuum leaks. Check the hoses that go from the plenums to the bottom of the throttle bodies. They crack and can cause leaks. If you get the CEL at low rpm and it goes out when driven at higher rpm a vacuum leaks is a good place to start.
Thanks guys Use 3/8" silicone hose for the vacume hoses, takes 10 min to do nothing needs to come off Just did it Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I checked the temp sensor against the new one in a water bath, they are both fine. So, that was not a problem.
Easy enough to make one. Air goes in. Bubbles oil which splashes on glow plug making smoke. All you need is some baby oil, a battery or battery charger to light the glow plug and a regulated air supply (low pressure). Add baby oil to cover air inlet but not glow plug. If you don't want to use a glow plug and baby oil just put a lit cigar of some incense in the can. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Could also be failing O2 sensors, bad fuel pressure regulator, bad injector... anything that would effect what OBD II calls LT fuel trim.
