What is the origin of Azzurro Argentina...? I can't find it anywhere else. Is it a color that was offered by Ferrari years ago...?

I think the combination you've put together is stunning. I would love to see additional pictures of the car - perhaps with the top down so that we can see more of the Cuoio interior. Great choice; congratulations.

In regards to the color, what I ordered and what I received are two different things--- or maybe not. Nobody knows exactly what happened. I knew the color I wanted because I had ordered an Azzurro California 328GTS in 1989. I wanted the F430 in the same color. The dealer had several small pieces of sheet metal samples painted in various colors, including a piece painted and labeled as Azzuro California. When my F430 arrived it was the right color to my eye, but the PPG sticker on the car reads Azzurro Argentina, a name I never saw or heard of at the dealer. I asked my salesman about it but he said he could not get an answer, and I just let it go because I'm happy with it--- whatever it is. Perhaps the Azzurro California color code name went away with the introduction of the Ferrari California model name.

I plan on posting additional photos fairly soon. I have a friend that volunteers at a WWII vintage aircraft museum and he has arranged for me to photograph my car with a P51 Mustang, Spitfire, and other great aircraft in the foreground/background. Hope to get to it in January.

I believe - but can't be certain - that the few Californias seen are actually liveried in Azzurro California. The options you listed in your initial post include "out-of-range" paint color. Does this mean you paid extra for a color you thought was standard? If so, I hope your dealer satisfied this error.

Irrespective of the color confusion, it's a gorgeous, stunning car, and I anxiously await additional images. Congratulations to you!

I did pay $2,935 for the out-of-range paint color, but I didn't ask for anything back from the dealer. Azzurro _________ is not a standard color on the F430, so if you want it you have to pay the premium.

I was too happy with the color when taking delivery to be disappointed a few days later when I noticed the PPG sticker language. To my eye it is exactly what I wanted. The actual window sticker reads: Color: Special / Natural , so you can't tell at delivery from your eye or reading the window sticker that what you got is maybe, technically, not what you ordered. And Cuoio is not mentioned anywhere on the window sticker.

I also think the extra $2,935 is the best optional money I spent if and when I ever sell the car--- which I am not planning on. In strong selling markets or weak selling markets there are always the usual suspects for sale in terms of car colors: red, red, and more red--- did I mention red?, with the occasional silver, yellow, or black. All colors are great colors if you like them--- and you should buy what you like, but people who own cars in these more popular colors sometimes have to use price--- or have price leveraged against them, in order to distinguish their car from another fairly similar car for sale.

Congrats Mike - it is a lovely color regardless I tend to like the traditional Ferrari-red. I agree it is very personal. Enjoy your beauty in good health.

Oh, I get it. So Azzurro California is no longer a current color...? So either way, whether you got California or Argentina, you were going to pay for the out-of-range paint. I see. I guess Blu Abu Dhabi replaced Azzurro California as that very light metallic blue color. Perhaps the Californias I've seen were liveried in Abu Dhabi and not California.

Unless the Cuoio were an out-of-range leather color, it wouldn't be noted on the window sticker. And I don't think leather colors ever expire, I think the names are simply changed over time.
