Hi, I wasn't sure how to locate the original thread, but there was some discussion about the front of my car. I've found an interesting advert placed by "Anamera" in the US in Aug 2010, with the following info: "This 1968 Ferrari Dino 206 GT Scaglietti Coupe . It is equipped with a Manual transmission. The vehicle is Red with a Black interior. It is offered As-Is, not covered by a warranty. 1968 Ferrari 206 Dino GT Scaglietti Coupe Chassis No. 00280 Engine No. 135B0000004938 Specs: 1,987 CC. DOHC V-6 Engine, Three 2-Barrel Weber Carburetors, 160 BHP at 8,000 RPM, 5-Speed Manual Gearbox, 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, Independent Coil-Spring Front and Rear Suspension, Alloy Body, European version. Designed by Pininfarina, Built by Scaglietti. This lively Dino is the 88th example of only 153 alloy-bodied 206 GTs produced. With a certificate of origin dated January 1969 and finished in Rosso Corsa with black interior, this European-version Dino was the first sold by well-known Ferrari dealer Auto Becker Holding GmbH in Dusseldorf, Germany. 1970, the car was acquired by William Adair of Canada who in turn sold it to the Geneen Motorcar Company of Toronto in April 1977. Records indicate the car changed hands twice more over the following years before being bought in September 1980 by Carolyn Zeifman, a movie producer from Toronto who was the second wife of acclaimed film director David Cronenberg. During Ms. Zeifman and Mr. Cronenberg's ownership, the Dino experienced some damage to the front end. Ms Zeifman replaced the original nose piece with one from a 246 Dino, visually identical but constructed of steel rather than aluminum. In 1983, Ms. Zeifman sold her Dino to Michael Mori, a performer living in Toronto who later sold the car to Richard Wagner, a fellow Ontario resident who kept the car for the next 13 years. In December 1996, with the odometer showing only 37,508 kilometers, Mr. Wagner sold this Dino to Murray Wivell of Brandford, Ontario. Thirteen months later, this arresting Ferrari was acquired by its most recent owner who proceeded to substantially restore the car. In 2008, the previous owner commissioned the construction and installation of a handcrafted aluminum nose piece built to identical specifications of a stock 206 front end. He further restored the car by rebuilding its engine with the help of Allesandro Motors of Toronto and replaced the flywheel, clutch, alternator and voltage regulator. A new windshield was installed and all rubber gaskets and seals were replaced. The transaxle was addressed as needed, suspension bushings were replaced and an upgraded windshield wiper system was installed. Cosmetic work included a complete repaint in the original color of Rosso Corsa, replating the chrome, new dash surfacing and new carpets. Since the restorative work, this handsome Dino has accrued only approximately 1,000 kilometers. Currently diplaying 88,590 kilometers and accompanied by its original books and tool kit, this scintillating Dino 206 is a beautifully finished and properly restored example of Enzo Ferrari's first mid-engine car, the benchmark of sleek design that commemorated his son. Only Approximately 1,000 Kilometers Since 2008 Restoration! 88th of Only 153 Units Built! Documented by Ferrari Historian Marcel Massini! Ferrari's First Mid-Engine Road Car!" I also have some photos of the front being rebuilt in the correct alloy. There were some really good photos of the car as well - the link is: http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/95131/index.html A pity the car was repainted in the wrong colour (should be Rosso Dino 20-R-350) but I'll be addressing that next month. I'd be delighted to hear from fellow 206GT owners with any advice, as this is my first ever Dino. All the best, Tony
Tony 206GT are really rare and true is that it is high collectible dino the car should get back its original color Rosso Dino. I have the same problem Bought Dino 246GTS recently in Rosso Chirao and was born Rosso Dino.I consider this color as one of most beautiful Dino colors. Good luck with your 206GT. Julius
