Just finished my visit to New York to complete the spec on my GTS. The car is a tribute to the 250 LM run by NART that won LeMans in 1965. I took a little bit of artistic license on a few items instead of matching 100% with the tribute car. For example, chassis #5893 had an all black interior. I really love the look of the blue seats in the other cars that era so I went with blue in mine. Requested the original blue Jeans Aunde But that was only available for tailor-made so went with the closest which is blue elettrico. Also, aside from the top of the dash which is black, the rest of the interior fabric is charcoal gray. Basically the interior is mirroring a different 250 LM also run by NART. The charcoal gray lightens up the cockpit nicely and will keep the cabin cooler under the hot sun here in Puerto Rico.

Few items that need to be corrected in the renderings:
-fire extinguisher added to passenger footwell
    -remove “NART” from dedication plaque
-Number in roundels will match the font of the original 250 LM
-Ferrari badge on rear deck will also be matte black
-Alcantara carpets replaced with aluminum plates

    List of specified options:
-period correct rosso corsa (modern day rosso chiaro) paint code 20.R.190
    -assetto fiorano package
-every single carbon option available including wheels in both exterior and interior. glossy on exterior, matte on interior
-Only alcantara used in interior, except for black leather on door handles.
    -Painted fender shields
-Tone on tone stitching with SF shields in headrest
    -Employee signatures in engine bay
-White contrast stitching on steering wheel
-Black ceramic tailpipe (likely replaced with black ceramic round tips by novitec)
    -Aluminum brake calipers
    -Custom kickplate as per photo
    -Racing seats with lifter
    -Full parking sensors, cameras, etc.
    -Wireless charging/CarPlay

    Requests rejected by HQ:
    -Jeans Aunde seat trim
-Painted NART logo on fender instead of SF shield
-Painted small yellow roundel above shield
-Painted smaller white roundel with 21 on rear decklid

    Additional comments:
-I went back-and-forth 1000 times on the carbon wheels as I thought the forged optionals with diamond cut visually looked better and more similar to the wire wheels on the ‘65 race car however at the end of the day I am a carbon addict and I feel like those wheels also better represent the spirit of performance and racing theme of the car.
-Aesthetically black calipers would probably go better with the carbon wheels but for some reason I like the contrast and the original car had aluminum calipers. So, it probably won’t be a popular choice but I’m happy with it.

Overall I’m thrilled. This is my first factory ordered Ferrari. The experience has been awesome. Was crazy to see the taylor made showroom in New York as well. Definitely a giant step up from atelier. Bit of a shame knowing I would have been able to spec my car 100% how I wanted it without them rejecting the things they did but I’m still very much pleased. First-world problems. Should be getting corrected renderings soon so I’ll post those as well. Just couldn’t wait. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

unreal... so awesome. Loving your painted numbers! I don't see anyone doing it, but I've added decals to mine since the beginning.

Very nice, congratulations! The experience is wonderful

Two thoughts come to mind, both regarding the steering wheel

    1. alcantara on the steering wheel is a very cool and exciting concept, but in practice, if you use the car often, you will find the oils from your hands will get into it and it will feel pretty crummy over time. There are two things you can do to help this: a- wear driving gloves; or, b- clean the alcantara frequently. My advice is to keep the steering wheel all leather. I know it's not quite as awesome and cool. But I am speaking from experience.

    2. the white contrast stitch on the steering wheel will be very attention grabbing, on a part that you probably don't really want too much attention. If you want a contrast stitch, Id suggest a grey or silver, it will still come off as white looking, so you will get your desired effect, but it won't be quite as bold.

Really beautiful spec and a great tribute to the LM. I would have loved to see the expression when you suggested replacing the Ferrari badge with a NART badge (would have been extremely cool if they had agreed to this).

thanks for the suggestions. On the first, we took this into consideration. Car is used pretty sparingly so I’m OK with the trade-off. And thinking long-term, I have someone who can reupholster it with new Alcantara that will look factory fresh if necessary. On the second, it was actually intentional to make it stand out as I love contrast stitching but we don’t have any in the rest of the interior. It wouldn’t look good on the seats or doors IMHO due to the theme of the build so the little highlight on the steering wheel pleases me and adds even more sportiness. I have white stitching on the steering of my current car and like it as well.

but thanks again for the considered thoughts. Always appreciated

actually she was pretty cool about it although she did say that she wasn’t sure it would get approved but she was happy to submit it for me. Surprisingly she was more negative on the blue colored fabric I originally wanted for the seats as she was certain it wouldn’t be allowed. So that wasn’t even submitted for approval.

That is very surprising indeed. Nevertheless very nice spec indeed and the interior as you have spec'd it will look even better in person than it does on the renders!

As you just learned, Atelier only allows automotive leather and alcantara. My salesman who booked my session didn't know that, so when I arrived wanting Heritage or Poltrona vintage leather they had to explain anything like that, or Jeans, would be Tailor Made. Doh! They did show me all the TM samples of the denim, Loro Piana wool, Nomex, Kvadrat etc, for future reference.

Here’s the updated renderings with corrections. They copied the original font, added the extinguisher, and changed the dedication plaque with approved wording. The factory confirmed that the original 250 LM was originally painted in rosso cino. They are confirming to see if it was known to be repainted afterwards and/or raced lemans in a different color in 1965. If so, they will send me samples of both colors. The goal is to paint the car in the colors in which it won. Absent new information, it will be painted rosso cino as it left the factory.
