    Bert,

    Great job! it looks fantastic.
I like the car better with the roof up. The lines of the car look so much better.

The paint is Porsche indian red, 99 Euro/4L (1 gallon) at german ebay! I sprayed it myself on a fresh autumn afternoon in the open and it was the first time I sprayed a car. It is BAD! But sanding with 2000 paper and polishing makes it acceptable at a slight distance and on pictures. Car really needs to be resprayed in a proper way another time. It is not that I don't have the money or not willing to spent the money, but I only want to spent it 1x so I first wait how durable all my DIY work was.

No! I don't! I had a total of 5 and a half weeks holiday, planned to finish the F in the first 2 weeks and then redo my old Alfasud. But could only start this week on the Sud, fresh gearbox, fresh cilinderheads, new brembo brakes discs (they're standard...), new shocks and other things neccesary. Painted the engine compartment Marine Blue, as that will be the new color instead of Verde Caraibi which it had for 8 years. But, I can only finish the oily stuff as wednesday my job starts. Of course I''ll go there in the Ferrari, no doubt. I'll finish painting the Alfa before winter as a rolling project with only it being of the road for a week or so. And then, I can concentrate on my Lancia Montecarlo, it has a seized engine but that happened 4 years ago so the brakes and stuff will need attention to. But there is no hurry with the MC, somehow I never really became fond of that car, good looks alone is not enough if it doesn't function properly. Goes for alot of things :)
Next project will be, getting a life! My god, I'm a 38 year old healthy man with a Ferrari and still single!

Don't call it a GTO! It isn't one, doesn't look like one (allthough some may be confused at first) and I still call it the 308. I guess your house will be in my parents backyard then, but, I like my parents place (lots of space for cars, especially when all that agricultural stuff is out of the way) so I will take over someday (or move back in, saves a lot of money and time:) )
Friday I'll be working on my Sud, but saterday I plan a lazy day, getting some Alfa parts with my Ferrari (instead of the other way around like past 3 years), maybe I can stop by or we can even do a tour de Roermond and annoy some people and get yelled at by 12 year old boys and 16 year old girls. Never get yelled at by 25-35 year old girls :(

that doesn't surprise me, with all those projects running :) Or do you expect, that some day a wonderful woman steps inside your garage and asks you if she may help you scrubbing oily residue ? Just kidding.
Congratulations on your great 308 GTO project. I like originality, but really appreciate and admire such craftmanship.

    Best Regards from Germany

    Congrats, Bert!!!! Bravo! Well done!

Actually, I had a girl walk into my garage just that way, as I was revving and prepping my racing karts. A few vodka shots from the freezer and.........

Man, she was HOT! We had many wonderful times together, before she decided to reconcile with her boyfriend, who lived next door! LOL!

Hey gang! Where is the guy with the US miles per hour 308GTB speedo??????
Have I missed the deal?????? HELP!

....and now back to Berts wonderful thread!

I DO remember from the time I had a girlfriend (in the beginning of this century) that women absolutly don't like oily finger nails, they may help me scrubbing it away from there, it is a start...

I gave her the videotape.............Max signed my driving suit before I raced. Ferrari guys stick together, like that! LOL!

My estimate is 1000 hours over 3 years. And all the man hours were only by this man but now I need my mother to sew me a soft cover for the top, now that it is painted it needs better protection when behind the seats, already some dull spots.
