I took my 308 to Ernie's foto studio for a professional foto shoot. It was quite amazing; Ernie's studio (www.digitalretention.com) is easy to get the car in and everything is organized from the start. He has the science down to an art form as well as the other way round. After some cleaning of the wheels and dressing up of the tires we were ready to go and he shot a long series of various angles. Because of his controlled environment every picture was spot on. Then it was time to look at the results on the PC and select the best shot. I don't have the final pics yet as Ernie goes through a painstaking process of manually touching up anything that's not perfect. Things like the infamous kink in the 308 front bonnet or the Chicago city sticker will magically disappear.

Meanwhile here a few pics I took of the maestro at work.

LFSC has a "ding" guy (at least they did a few years ago) who took out the "outy" ding on my bonnet several years ago... paintless. You would never know it was there!
He was $80 for the first ding, $20 (??) for each other one.
Guy worked MAGIC on my car

I know a guy that comes to you and does the same thing. Also another that will come to you and do chip and scratch repairs.

They've done a number of customers cars at Ed's shop when they're in for mechanical repairs. If your car is in for service and you'd like some dent and chip repairs done, let Ed know. He'll have the guys come to his shop.

I've used both of them, and their work is exceptional.

Good to know. I got a bunch of little spots around the car, so will do that next time around. Darn I got a chip now that even went to the metal.

I had a good size one that went down to the metal too. The guy came out, had to fill the chip with filler and exactly matched the paint. I can't even tell where the repair was done.

Same thing with dents. I've had some done and so have friends. I'm talking on Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Rolls Royces etc. The dents are gone and it's usually impossible to tell where they were.

It's great to be able have these things taken care of while the car is at his shop.

Those pictures look great! What are his fees like? I am assuming he is located somewhere in the Northwest burbs ? (847) area code?

Can he do different effects? Like with a black background and a shiny black floor? Kind of like that Ferrari photo that is a poster out there of a red 308 at night on a wet shiny black pavement with a reflection in it.... That would be a great shot of your own Ferrari... :)

For fees etc best to contact him directly via his web page www.digitalretention.com.

His studio is near O'Hare. He can do any effects you can imagine. He has a sample book with all kinds of cars and effects: Black back ground, reflection on the floor, see through the engine cover down to the engine, you name it. But I haven't seen any girls in his studio. That might cost extra. :)

Ernie does great work! And his prices are more than reasonable, in fact, I would say a bargain.
