Well folks, I hate to do this but I have decided to put my 308 up for sale. I've been wanting to it for a while because I'm just a little too big for it. I love this car but need something bigger. 1978, GTS, #26581 Most of you know how well this car runs on the dyno and now that it has a fresh "off the car" carb rebuild by Carb Connection it runs even better. It isn't a cream puff and there have been a few modifications done to it to enhance performance. Modified airbox ( I still have the stock one), short velocity stacks, Crane solid state ignition etc.... 16" repro wheels/Yokohamas..........(I still have the stock 14" set), new Alpine sound. It is due for belts and tensioners next spring so I am discounting the price for that consideration. asking 27,500 Go here for more pictures, http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1853&highlight=26581
The B has nice lines and a stiff chassis over the S but I like the open top on the S, especially with the feeble A/C these have.
Hate to see "old-slow" go. Maybe someone local will buy it. So I have to ask........ does this mean a TR is in the not-too-distant future?
It sure did run well on the Lake Quinalt trip. I heard that you enjoyed driving it so much that you awoke at 5:30 AM just to go driving.
We have a member with a GTB, fly yellow, 288 nose, modified engine, 6 way electric Vette seats (I think). 200 RWHP. Last time he advertised I think he wanted 35k.
Well that IS on my list in my profile....................... In fact, you may see some others there too, like an ISO Grifo and Maserati Bora...........................
Man she ran great!! On a sunny Sunday morning, Hwy 101, ALONE on the road, NO traffic, tunes cranked. Anybody stop to watch the drag races in Forks? They were being held on the airport next to the road leading into town. Very tempting to stop but I had a boat to catch.
Wow I can't believe that old yeller is going away, or will this open a spot for another F-car......hm what would you get maybe a TR, F430 or that Enzo that you have had your eye on. what ever it is I hope you won't be a stranger at the events and that spot in the garage won't stay empty for too long.
There will be another Fcar in my future for sure but it may not be right away. I may have to get a "transition" car in the mean time. You will most definitely see me at club events though I may be in the Kraut Kar Club Support Vehicle (somebody has to haul the luggage!). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow. This is like the Pope selling his crucifix or something. I've been tempted by the Trossa lately as well... who knows.
I'll be sorry to see it go.... Hopefully you'll sell it locally and the new owner will join the club. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a good example of one of these yellow stallions to replace it with! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Me too....... I have only advertised in the NW section here and on NWRclubchat. I haven't really tried anywhere else yet. I would like to see it stay around. It's good runner, never left me stranded...................Someone new to ownership would do well with it. BTW, that yellow TR looks nice. Good choice. After driving Tim's 550 last year I really fell for 12 cylinder power, not to mention Roberts black TR a couple of years ago.
DAMMIT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do you have any idea how long i have been ........... (shouting) LOOKING FOR A YELLOW ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG ! AND YOU FREAKING POST THIS !!!!!!!!!!1 ONE DAY AFTER I BUY A BLACK 77 GTB!!!!! DAMN YOU !!!! my timing sucks.......
in case you guys missed that IT WAS ONE DAY TOO SOON !!!!!!! DAMMIT. you wanna green euro 911.... i need to find my piggy bank to rob.... crap, i will be like BIGTEX and HAVE TWO OF THEM !!! super nice car. sorry i missed it. i hope you find that yellow "something" . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hell Michael, I didn't know you were in the market for yellow, I would have contacted you directly. I just decided to sell it last night so it may be around a while. Pretty in yellow aren't they?
I wanted to add that the transmission is excellent in this car. The timing belts, clutch and the upgraded "big bearing" water pump were put in 12,000 miles ago (in 2001). I put in all new fuel and vent hoses over the last two years. The cooling system is clean and the car has never over heated (just the usual "pee" after the first stop). I have installed new brushes in the fan motors, new thermal switch with manual override. I also installed a billet surge tank next to the header tank for the cooling system. The car also has a STRONG electrical system. All of the lights are bright including dash lights. I could go on.............................
PS: How about a yellow Boxer? Best of both worlds, 12 cylinder power and classic styling.... I've never seen a yellow BBi in person, but here's a shot of a model. Image Unavailable, Please Login
