The true nature of the car has been revealed! I stripped all of the wheel wells and found things are pretty dirty but mostly OK. Good news is the steering box and rack were re built and it looks pretty fresh...one less thing to worry about ;) I have some hoses that will need attention so things continue to progress. I still have yet to find any structural rust, or any of the panels...except of course the lower door skins. It's pretty limited. T. Rutlands sold me an honest car.

If anyone can identify the valve with attached hoses in the last photo I'd appreciate it. The hose just above the oil cooler duct is shot.

    Also...where are the Digiplex boxes???

The digiplexes are located in the drivers side trunk. pull up the carpet and there is a panel there

*** Be sure to check the fuel filler hose while you're in there, it's a major cause of fires !
Make sure it's been changed recently or replace it and the vent lines etc.
Looks like a great car !

That's the Diverter Valve for the air injection system -- see page 73 in your 216/81 OM.

Thanks...The filler hose is one of the reasons I opened her up...it looks solid but from what I have heard change it anyway ;)
