If any of you 348 owners are going to upgrade in the next few months I am looking to upgrade from a 308 to a 91 (#89500 or higher) or newer 348. Black, Red or Blue will work - yellow will not (no offense to all the yellow cars out there - personal preference). Looking at all models. Once I sell one of my houses I'll be looking really hard. Vrod available for trade (looks brand new, Sundowner seat, supersport wind-shield, 3450 miles, 2002).

Ther was a very nice 348 spyder at a dealership in Dallas. It was flawless. I got close up and it was perfect. That was many months ago though. I dont remember the name but it is on 35N on the right side if your traveling north. The dealership has boats out in fornt of it also. Good luck.

Yea, I know. But I drove one run with a Red 348 with "Nowife" as the plate and fell instantly in lust.

The move over to a 348 will not be a fast one any way.

On a probably related note and I am not kidding: After I posted this string I went out to the 308 for a quick spin and she won't start. Absolutely the first time she hasn't put out...these things are definately women...women with attitudes and expensive tastes. I think it is time for a tuneup this weekend. The knuckles are about to make friends will all the sharp objects next to the spark plug holes (oh I am sooo looking forward to the back bank...weeeeee).

I may buy here her some flowers just in case.

definitely women? Hmmmm...it sounds like you are experiencing mechanical failure. Perhaps you might check under the hood again for gender verification. I do believe viagra was developed for men???? :)

No fire in the hole. A whole crate of viagra would only result in a very blue stick shift.

I'm looking at selling mine in the next few months. It has all upgrades, top and rockers painted, specialle front lip, clear bra, updated altenator, and a recent service of belts. It is a late 1990 model with 22,000 miles and crome wheels. send me an E-mail or call if you are interested (972) 896-5601

According to a fellow FCAer, the car received a much needed rear end suspension upgrade that made it a far better handling car at high speed. Additionally, the engine fuel system (EFI) was upgraded. He said the older model was very difficult to recover if the rear end begins to leave you (unpredictable) whereas the late 91s and better are far more predictable. He speaks from experience as a past late 91 owner. I think the 89300s are the new ones, not 89500. I w3as reading my notes and caught the error.

I too once longed for the elusive 348. However I was SET on finding a fly-yellow TS, one-owner, low miles, yada yada....After an futile exhaustive search, a wise person suggested that I dry my tears and step up and pet the pony. My 99 355F1 spider (yellow of course) was the best purchase I have ever made. It satisfies my every desire (well....maybe not EVERY desire). My point, look at the 355 vs. the 348. A much better car for not that much more $$. You'll be glad you did.

I do occasionally look at the 355s on the lists...the aftermarket accessories for the wife would kill me. But the thought is already there.

I think the difference between a 91 and 90 is total B.S. It's true that the 89 and 90's had more "issues", but nothing particularly alarming (although the 2.7 Motronic is definitely a plus). If an 89 or 90 is still driving around out there, there were no "issues" to begin with or the issues have been resolved. You don't drive around for 15 years in a car with a bad ECU.

What about the change in suspension geometry in late 91? Have you heard any comparisons? Most people either are unaware of it or agree completely that it made a huge difference in ability to control a loss of traction. Granted, I suppose much track time in both types is required. Both of the sources I have meet the prerequisite.
