I am so excited, it's so hard not being able to drive it due to weather. AHHHHH!!!

Here’s a few pics from the garage

I bought the car completely unseen other than pics and overall I am happy.

It has some small paint and body dings. Someone painted the lower passengar door panel and the paint is slightly off color. :(
The interior is in good condition, all the sticky parts have been replaced. The leather on the dash looks good.

The light is lit on the dash that indicates a shock absorber malfunction, is this a problem what could it mean? The dealer I bought it from says it wasn't one when it left his place. (ya right)

    Congrats on your new 355
A 355 GTS is one of the best.
Is this the same one that was being sold at Algar?

I know this feeling. I test drove mine in texas. No lights. Had it shipped home. Unloaded at midnight in 20 degree weather and the check engine light goes on as I pulled into the garage. Was only a bad temp sensor.

Your warning light may just be from the ignition being turned on an off a few times without the car moving. It will likely reset when you go for a ride. Less likely would be a bad shock actuator.

Major kudos! Very nice looker! Enjoy your GTS, I can't get enough of mine.

Incidentally, I also had the suspension light come on at one point as well shortly after I got it. Mine happened when I decided to turn off the sport suspension settings just to see what the difference was.

When I called up the dealer, I was told that sometimes the switches that aren't used much will throw errors after being switched. Not sure how much I believe that, but I haven't had any code lights since (knock on wood).

    All the best.

Beautiful! That is my dream first Ferrari. That is the exact spec I want, a yellow on black 355 GTS F1. Take good care of her.

    It's a 1999, 27500 miles, all factory parts.

    My first F-car

Overall condition is good just a few things that drive a perfectionist like me nuts.

Already determined the plastic fender shields need to be changed out for metal ones. Does anyone know if the metal ones on ebay for $45 are any good?

I Couldn't get the gas door open, yes the key was on. ;) Finally after great force was able to pull the release handle in the engine bay, then it wouldn't stay shut. solenoid was frozen up. I didn't think I was going to be able to get it working. I checked and found out they sell for around $600 from Ferrari. So I ended up disassembling the entire mechanism, you have to go in through the rear wheel well. I sprayed a little more lube on the pin and eventually got it moving freely. First crisis adverted!

The sound system is shot! I know most owners never listen to the radio however, I enjoy a little ipod now and then. New speakers would probably make a world of difference I think mine are blown. It has the factory disk changer if anyone is interest I will be selling it.

The front hood needs new struts, it won't stay up.

I need to get some new floor mats, preferable with shield or horse on them.

I'm planning on performing the major engine service myself this winter. Looking forward to it and a bit apprehensive. It seems like the forum has lots of resources for just such an adventure.

Thanks for sharing. Is it an F1?

Aside from the major, all of those little details are fun to fix and don't cost much.

As for the shield, don't buy crap on eBay. Search this site for Yoshi shield, and but from him. Excellent quality, but sometimes they take some time to ship. Your patients is worth it, as I had them on my first 355 and they fit great. Also, if you search his site there are exact placement guides for the 355. I can't tell you how bad ever so slightly misplaced shields look.

Yep it's an F1. I hope it doesn't have the problems some others have had with the F1 system.

In the video it does look like the reverse lights are not working. Was the car just coasting down the ramps or did the truck driver actually have it in reverse?

At one point there were reverse lights I believe on two inboard lights. Should all four be lit? I'll have to double check tomorrow.
