My 4 year Ferrari Anniversary Today!

Well,4 Years ago,today,my lifetime Dream was realized. It was a Sunny,Cold day. The roads were all clean. I took delivery of my Red/Tan,1981 308GTSi,that had 14,250 Miles on it. Freshly serviced,and ready to go...

The drive home was awesome. I Got my car at LFSC,and took I-94/294 home. It was a glorious,but,all too short drive... I kept saying,out loud to myself, "I did it! I FINALLY got a Ferrari!" After a couple previous attempts,that,in retrospect,were a good thing that they didn't work out. THIS was the Right Car! The Car that I had been seeking. The Car that I was waiting for.

People who saw me must have thought that I was nuts...They were correct!

Yes,as soon as I can get some time....

 

No. As much as I have always loved to work on my own cars, (Since I was 15-1975) I can't bend over and move around like I used to. (With all of my Orthopaedic Problems.... ) Maybe,if I had a lift...

But,I'd just rather let the Ferrari Tech's look the whole Car over. A "Check-Up". I want all of the Lines,Hoses,Clamps,etc...checked. Replaced as neccessary. All of the Fluids,including Brake and Gearbox changed. Wheel bearings checked and greased,etc...And,maybe a Tubi installed. (Still trying to rationalize taking off a perfectly good exhaust system,and replacing it with a several Thousand Dollar one. It's not the $$,it's the Principle.... ) Maybe I'll hold off on that until the current system starts getting crappy....I don't know....

AND...the Parts and Repairs will be Warranteed.... And,as I always say..."What Price can you put on Peace of Mind...?"... It's worth it to me.

HeeHee! No,I definitely married the right Girl....This Time... She has no qualms whatsoever about how many Cars/Ferrari's that I get. She knows how much I love Cars...But,that She and My Kids are First!...

She's seen pictures of when I owned several Corvettes at once.

But...(and here's the kicker....) She also knows how much I love Motorcycles. I've ridden Mini-Bikes since I was a little kid. Dirt Bikes and Motocross as a Teen. Street Bikes,including a 1975 Kawasaki Z1-B 900,Bored to a 1013. Which,"back in the day...." was THE Fastest,most revered street bike around.
And Harleys....She knows how much I'd LIKE to get another Harley or Two...Maybe an Indian....Maybe a Custom Chopper.....BUT....NO BIKE FOR ME!!!!!

She knows about my Crash with a Bus,while I was on a Motorcycle. ( I was "T-Boned" By a Bus. NOT my Fault...) I was very nearly Killed. Really Close... I spent a Week in ICU. A Month and a Half in Traction. Steel Rods in my Right Femur. Almost a Year with a Leg Cast. Years of Rehab. And,permanent Damage to my Right Leg. Icky Bad Scars....

So...the deal is...I can have all the Cars that I want, (or,for right now,that we have room for... ) As long as I stay off Motorcycles...

I can live with that...

Yes,I have told Frankie,Jr. that if he is a Good Kid. Does good in School. Etc...he will have a Ferrari some day. But,not at 16. Maybe 19 or 20.
