eeww....and they missed the shifter boot......happened with many cars with deviated stitching. has to do with some parts being from porsche exclusive....still a bad excuse on their part. that's what made me shy away from ordering deviated on mine... it does not compromise it's performance however...
Nice addition. I saw one on the road the other day. Was really diggin' it. If and when I decide that I need or want a cabrio, there is a good chance it will be one of these.
I absolutely LOVE it! It's extremely fast and fun to drive. It's a whole other experience to my 430. The all wheel drive is fantastic and the driving dynamics are superb. The 430 is a better handling car in my opinion but Im also very in tune with the 430. The classic rear engine 911 feel is there in spades but the steering is very predictable and balanced. As I learn how to toss her around better I will give my opinion. The clincher was that I bought it brand new off the show room floor for a better price than ANY advertised used or new 997 Turbo Cab in the country. I wasn't sure if I wanted a black car and I wanted the ceramic brakes, but the car stops on a dime and the black with red stitching is awesome. My 430 is black with yellow stitching and brake calipers which makes them perfect stable mates.
while it's a very quick car as is, wait till you put 5-6000 miles on her....she will really unfold. just make sure you fill her up with 98RON. the AWD makes the car really surefooted and it is rather tough to throw her around as the AWD actuation is electronic on th 997TT. enjoy !!
make sure you build up boost before launching and no F430 will be able to keep up. In fact it out accelerates the F430 in just about any gear due to it's torque figures..... i will wait to hear your opinion on that subject too....
I am more blown away by the Turbo the more I drive it. No question that the Turbo is quicker than the 430 but it feels about the same in the drivers seat. In the 430 I feel more of a full on rush of power and intensity compared to the Turbo where it's a smoother delivery of torque. When I look at the speedometer Im shocked at how friggin' fast Im moving! I got the tyre pressure right this morning on the Turbo.....All the tires where over-inflated by several psi. The handling really blew my mind once the pressure was set right. The awd is amazing! Tomorrow I will get the alignment and balance done by my guy who dials in all my cars. It just gets better!
tires are usually always over inflated when cars leave the factory. your dealer should have adjusted the pressure at PDI. when i received my gt2 i had 4 bar all over. correct pressure is 2.0 front and 2.3 rear. would i have driven it, i woul have blown a tire for sure. i have driven tk's 430 and really enjoyed it. surely the sound is intoxicating yet dramatizes everything and you might mistake it for 'power' compared to the muted sound of the TT. the TT really has to be driven to be appreciated....its a massively powerful car yet feels so civilized cause it actually brings down all the power to the road without sliding or burning out the tires. i like to call it slingshot .....especially when i powerbrake to 4500 rpm and then let go. now try to get to drive a 997 GT2 and you will be truly blown away enjoy !
I got the balance and alignment done this morning....HOLY CRAP!!!! The car drives like it's on rails! The power and handling is off the charts. I may have to check out a GT2 very soon!
A temporary fix of the mismatched white stitching on the shift boot may be to get a nice red permanent marker and carefully dab the stitches with the marker, letting the red ink soak into the thread.
