My 458 has finally arrived

    After a 6 month wait, and regularly raiding FChat forums for tips and question (which were extremely helpful - thank you all), my car has finally arrived....and wow....there is not many words that can describe it..

    Having picked it up from HROwen at Knightsbridge - London - we were shocked at the number of people that took photos, asked whether they can see the interior etc...and in a place like central London - that is saying something...

    The specs are:
    Nero Daytona
    Nero large racing seats with yellow stitching
    Giallo brake callipers
    Shields
    Grigio Ferro wheels
    yellow tach
    Carbon fibre sports pack
    yellow seat belts
    TPM
    Nav
    Rear park cam
    front and rear park sensors
    In and Out elech. mirrors
    alcantara top


    Drove around 230 miles over the past week in central London...with hindsight, i may have ordered the upgraded sound system...and I am glad i didn't go for all the extra leather options like the side of your foot, rear bench etc..as i never look there


    As my dealer was talking me through the car, there were 2 kids that asked whether they could photograph the car - i said they could on the condition that they send the pictures to me...so here are some of the pictures they took, with some others...Enjoy!

    Looks fantastic (wicked!). Yeah, I'm not a fan of colored belts, but this combo looks great. Let's see that interior!

    Thank you all for the comments...detailed interior shots will follow shortly....meanwhile just some crappy iPhone photos from the road (also one with 599FXX)...so far everyone seems to be split on the seat belts...i actually love it..i think it gives the car that extra spark, considering its all black...but some people love it some people don't:)

    Also, see some of the pictures at the bottom...do you guys all have that pretty big opening below the glove box? I will give the car back to the dealer on Monday to also get the carpeting below the glove box fixed (which i think is ridiculous given the cost of the car - but hey, can't have it all i guess)


    It has now been a week since it arrived, and today is the first time i will leave it in he garage and take my 911 out again as we are 3 people...otherwise - i just want to drive it every moment:)

    I actually am very used to the whole interface, which has become intuitive....with hindsight, maybe i should have ordered the upgraded sound system, but it was a lot to ask IMHO...

    about lowering the car- Ferrari do not recommend it, and i am not sure if that would breach any warranty etc...so far the ground clearance for London is surprisingly great though (even better than my 911 perhaps)..

    On the 15th of september, I will be going to Silverstone to try to break the world record for most ferraris on one track, where we will try to get to 500 cars...:) will keep you posted with pictures...

    Maybe we should do a little get together in london with 458's if anyone is interested..

    Flaws are always disappointing...really no excuse on carpet, just sloppy uncaring work that the installer and inspector should be fired over assuming it came out factory that way. Try to look the other way, the car looks great otherwise. Congrats and enjoy it.

    Congratulations!!! Great lookimg car!! Are the wheels the 20 inch sport rims with diamond finish as offered in the US spec or is your gregio ferro a custom wheel?

    I have the Grigio ferro rims too and really love them. Post pics of the 500 Ferraris! That'll be awesome, and unique.

    I would be upset about the carpet issue. I'd be paranoid too....wondering was else is wrong that I can't obviously see.

    I'm sure I'd get over it after one drive.

    Congratulations, "que bella macchina " she really is supreme and let me tell you, you're in for lots of fun times driving her.

    I've had mine for nearly 6 months now and I still can't believe how good it is to drive, talk about making you feel 12 years old again.

    You've optioned it up beautifully, do you have the racing seats as I could tell from the pictures. this is the only regret in hindsight that I have.

    Hope the weather stays well for your next drives.

    Thank you very much..the seats are large racing seats... and I have to say..they are AMAZING...comfortable, yet firm, yet luxurious....an amazing design feat IMHO...here are some low quality interior shots for the time being...

    fabulous mate. I think the yellow belts make it, grabs the eye and ties in beautifully with the calipers. And the wheels.......still like the painted ones!!! Enjoy. I am going to look into the 500 Ferraris today to see if we can join. 458's in London sounds a great idea. we could do London to Brighton!!!!
