I really think converting the Scud is a mistake - each to their own but the experience of the scud shifting at full chat is extraordinary ... much more sense to convert the base cars IMO

Agreed, the F1S trans is in a league of its own.

I agree with this. If I wanted the Scud experience, I'd want the full kidney punch.

@armedferret, I'm going to try to hit 150k!

@RoyalPink that is a great photo! Thanks for posting! Yeah, the car came with the tricolor stripe (which I am not a fan of on the scuds...I like the iconic scud "dual stripe"). When the car was purchased from the racing outfit the dealer tried to remove the old ppf, and with it came a bunch of the paint, so it was repainted without the stripe. Not sure what is going on with the mismatched wheels. I think Exotics Racing powdercoated them all black, which is how they came to me (and in surprsingly good shape...no curb rash at all!). Interesting to see that it was running the heavy girodisk rotors even back then. Changing back to the CCM's was not cheap, but worth it!

@Mario Andretti Andretti, I'm right at 70%, so don't want to push my luck. Plus, there is some oil "weep" (doesn't drip) from the area between the gearbox inspection opening (where the gearbox meets the engine). Its the only "leak" on the car. I'm betting its the rear main seal so I want to take care of that soon as well!

@DutchFerrari , that's super cool to hear. I thought I might be the highest mileage in the world but kind of glad that distinction belongs to someone else (for the time being!). Also, one hint on getting everything to line up is to back off all the nuts at the header-to-cat connection flange so they are super loose and the cats can be manipulated into the proper orientation that lines up best with the muffler. There is quite a bit of adjustibilty built into that interface so that may be your issue. Also, if your donut sealing rings are smashed, good time to replace them.

@LightGuy I saw that "high mileage" scud! When I first got my car I too thought a manual conversion would be a great upgrade. I love manuals (have manual gt3, m3, 944turbo), but I now agree with others that the transmission really makes the car special. Its just bonkers and feels so much like a race car its almost hilarious. Sometimes when the rpm's and throttle input is "just right" the shifts are so fast its crazy. So fun and engaging, unless you are just tooling around or actually trying to use the car as regular transportion, then its kind of annoying (but the solution is easy...don't use the car as "normal transportation!"). The only thing I don't love about the sf2 f1 system is its complexity. There are just so many seals, actuators, potentiometers, solenoids, etc.... Just makes for a very complex system that can be a bear to troubleshoot. With that said I think the key is regular use and staying on top of maintenance. I guess I should knock on wood but other than a leaking line at the accumulator, I have not any any f1 related issues, warning lights, concerns, or hicuups. But its always in the back of my mind!

One of the greatest threads of all time on any car forum. Happy to have played a small part in it. It motivates me to get back to doing more on my car. Recently I've been doing little cosmetic things that I've been putting off because of my crazy schedule - sticky buttons, failed window switches, etc. Rewarding and therapeutic.

Ha, nice of you to say! And yes, your contribution to my baby is much appreciated (second-hand Kline valved exhuast, which I love!). Still debating a tune...probably good idea just to round off the mod list!
