Previous owner of my car had the carpet replaced with a kit from pelican, and they removed the carpet on the rear seat so the "turbo" script was gone.

I found some used seats on ebay and I'm putting them in now.
I'd rather have correct worn carpet than the wrong carpet.

Anyway I found they decided not to install the 4 screws and washers on the corners and I can't figure out where this elastic strap should screw to. I don't see any where that it would have been.

So can anyone tell me where that should attach even if just straight back centered or have a photo of yours semi apart??

Then I need help sourcing the screws and washers any idea where in the parts break down they might be. I looked at pelican and couldnt find anything about the hardware.

    Thanks

    Johnny

There were a total of 4 leather straps on the '79's. 2 sewn into the L&R seat backs with female snaps and 2 screwed into the L&R rear firewall with male snaps. The ones on the seats are attached to male snaps screwed into the seat back to hold them in place when the seats are down. The picture shows the straps for the left seat and there are similar one's for the right seat. Reproductions are available online but you may need to get a couple screws and the male buttons for the seat backs at your local HWS.

Yeah I know that strap holds it up, the strap I'm showing is the one located on the bottom of the carpet, and its actually located Under the rear shelf.

After seeing that last picture it looks like I totally overshot on the intent of your original question. I originally pictured something more straight forward.

No worries that's why I posted that better photo.

I'll put it on pelican as well.

    Thanks
