Good luck with the hurricane, Jeff, you know I'm just west of you, so if there's anything I can do to help pre or after the hurricane let me know.
The tip I got for closing my Frunk with new weather stripping installed, was to put my hand directly over the latch during the last 6 in of closure, and then push it firmly closed.

    All,
Have been busy tuning the car, good progress. Cold start, Idle, and low speed cruise are dialed in. The use of dual O2 sensors is a great help. The base fuel, and ignition maps are solid, used after start/warm up enrichment, along with cold ignition advance to get a very nice smooth start/warm up phase.
Before I venture into mid to high speed tuning I need to address the one remaining area of the car I have not touched yet, the front suspension/brakes.
I will be doing the same as the rear, new bushings, QA-1 coil overs, rebuild calipers. Updates to follow.
    Regards
    Jeff

    Hi all,
So apparently my 83 QV uses the front hub bearings from the Mondial 8. Unfortunately, this means I am faced with removing the 70mm ring nut which apparently no tool exists to remove it. The ring nuts are available but I'll be damned if I know how to remove the nut without the tool.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Jeff

Maybe a good machine shop could remove it for you without buggering it up?

Well, here is where we are at. No one makes the proper tool. To have one made correctly would take a minimum of $600. I have a friend who owns a machine shop, he said he would do it at cost($600).
I also don't know if the threads are left, or right hand, also it is most likely torqued to several hundred foot pounds.
So after cleaning the bearing, and inspecting as best I can, decided to let sleeping dogs' lye. I will regrease, and reassemble.
    Done.
    Regards
    Jeff

They say these bearings are very robust and maybe even over engineered for their purpose, and seldom go bad if maintained, lubed sufficiently.

Good choice to let them be IMHO.
