A kid hit me from behind and pushed me into an Xterra with a big trailer hitch. Luckely the kid had insurance and everyone was okay :( still makes me sick to see my baby like this. I just got it repainted 3 weeks ago!
Should have some info on what is going to happen tomarrow. right now she sits in the ICU (my garage)

Notice how the trunk is pushed in and how far the tailights are pushed in.

Look at the front of the quarter panel. All the chips are from the 1/4 being pushed forward into the door and then i guess it went back to where it was. did it on both sides.

Foglights don't line up, neither does the hood...

Been there, done that with fresh paint getting whack-a-moled.

Doesn't look totalled to me, but, Insurance adjusters are a different breed these days.

Tips on how to avoid getting shorted on the job should be forthcoming.

In the meantime, take it easy... don't want to have neck start hurtin'... definitely been there.

The following is in regards to a 308, but the advice is still pertinent.

I know more about mustangs than I probably should....lol

The car has at least 5K in damage and is worth mabey 7-10K. It is all a numbers game, we will see what happens. Hopefully she will be back on the road soon!

    Thats too bad.

I think your right on it being a write-off. It's the stuff we can't see that worries me. My best friend owns a bodyshop and I've seen some hits that look cosmetic on the outside but can be a complete disaster underneath.

I suspect that once the trunk is open the floor of the trunk is damaged quite bad and the doors touching the quarters means the rear floor section has rolled quite a bit. Frame and body repairs are quite expensive these days and the car is almost 13 years old. Let us know how you make out and good luck. I am glad to hear that everybody is ok, that is the most important part.

    Mike.

Shame. If the door opening is chipping like that, you probably have unibody damage. Before any final estimates are made, get it on a frame machine.

Actually it is not that bad. If you were closer I would fix it for you.
