It seems like overnight, the price of toilet paper has gone balistic! $9 for a 24-pack of the decent stuff? A ream of paper weighs more than a 24-pack of TP and it's only $3.49! Is this price fixing? Is Charmin out to 'wipe' out our wallets too? I may resort to taking toilet paper out of Home Depot bathrooms and better hotels everyehere!

If you're a woman, this is a big deal. A real man only goes through a roll every few months, so not important in the grand scheme. :)

A 24 pack of toilet paper takes up a lot space, whether that be warehouse, retail or shipping. You can always use leaves, they are free and your neighbor will probably let you rake his when you run out in your yard. LOL

$9.00 divided by 24 = 37.5 cents per roll, if a roll has 200 sheets you are paying .001875 per sheet. Figure your average dump requires 16 sheets, your cost is 3 cents.

Peter, is this rant indicative of a "Superior Grade Toilet Paper" Brand hitting the shelves anytime soon? :)

I wholeheartedly agree with you though. Its getting to a point where your litterally wiping your ass with hard earned money.

    But hey, bottled water right?

16 sheets per dump? I'd hate to have to wash YOUR underwear! :)

If you can not get clean in 8 wipes, doubled up, you need to layoff the Medamucil for a few days.

Go for the cheap stuff. A few days with a toilet paper whose motto is "what we can't sand off will bleed clean" and $9 won't seem so bad.

According to my Army buddies, if you joined the Marines, you got one square of toilet paper every time you need to take a dump. An experienced Marine would show you how to fold it in half, then half again, so that you ended up with a small square. After tearing off a small corner, he would unfold it to end up with a square of toilet paper with a hole in the middle.

If a newbie asked what the hole was for, the senior Marine would reply "For your finger."

But you forgot the important part: you save the little corner you tear off to clean under your fingernail!

True story of a short term roomate in college, NO BS. He said you are supposed to use individual sheets of TP to wipe yourself. WTF we asked?. He then demonstrated to us what he meant. He took a take a single sheet of TP and folded it in half and then rip a small half circle in the middle of the folded side. He then said to keep the small circle you ripped out. He then inserted his middle finger through the hole and then said that you are to wipe with your middle finger. He then used his left hand to fold up the paper around his middle finger wiping forward to clean his middle finger. He then said you are to use the small cirlce that you ripped out to clean under the finger nail of your middle finger, if neccessary. TRUE STORY NO BS. Now we never really knew if this is what he did as we never went in the the crapper with him. Just in case, we kicked him out after one semester (We could not do it sooner). Just to be safe we also never did any high five's with him and never shook hands with him and we tried at all costs to never touch a door knob or anything that he touched with his right hand. You meet all kinds in college and in life.
This method may work for those of you that want to keep TP usage and costs down in their house.

Sounds like one of those inter service legends....... FWIW in training we didn't all have cable TVs in our rooms... 12 of us had to share a big screen and the internet was really slow sometimes.

Really just a supply chain issue...... here is an old story

U.S. Soldiers wait for toilet paper, other supplies at Camp New Jersey
