Well, after 46 years of working on it, a car owner has offered me his race car for the rest of the season.

    Details:
Ran in a corporate Karting event this week.
Fastest in all pracice sessions in any kart.
    Won my heats.
Started the feature last in a kart others cursed all night, passed the field, took the win in the last turn of the last lap.

Track manager found me after the event and offered me one of his Mustang gt SCCA Solo cars. Not exactly Roger Penske calling, and not exactly driving Damon Hill's car, but it will do for me!

    Incredibly cool!

How many races will you have a chance to enter?

Do you feel comfortable racing that car?

Will you have any experience at the tracks you will be racing on?

    Any liability involved?

    Thanks Guys.

Looks like 6 races are in the area still. Many more of course if you reach out 500 miles. The main issue is that most are Sunday only, I need to find the two day or Saturday events, which cuts the schedule in about 1/2. (Play electric guitar for our church, work the morning services)

Yes, would be comfortable in that car, have driven pony cars all my life.

Tracks are usually on air fields, temporary set ups, with cones. I've driven thru a LOT of cones in road construction areas, so I think that qualifies!
(actually speeds are like highway speeds, it's all about smoothness and keeping up momentum on a tight circuit)

Liability, I'm sure. Need to study the deal.

Don't worry, I'll not let this go to my head, I'll stay one of the guys, and continue to hang out here.

are there many Saturday events for you? Will he have to find a second driver for Sunday races?

Would be able to travel to the races that are 500ish miles away?

Do you have experience getting spun out then throwing your helmet at passing cars? lol

Nothing really to say................. other than that I'm still here posting with you amateurs. And I probably need spell check for that last word.

I left a message for Berger in case they are looking for a new American to push around.

lol means laugh out loud. As in if you do well in the near future, Nascar might come a callin'. I believe helmet throwing is one of the prerequisites now.
