It was sadly quiet around my house this morning. She had been spoiled by my fiance and always got "wet" food first thing. Her incessant meowing for this food used to drive me absolutely bonkers when I first got up, but it's too quiet now. I know the dogs went looking for her around the house this morning.

Sorry to hear it man - losing animals is tough. On the bright side, if you got her from a shelter in 1995, she was a lot better off in your care than in a shelter, and she had 11 good years at least, which is much more than many animals are afforded.

Sorry to learn of your loss. You no doubt gave your cat the best 11 years of its life.

My landlady has more cats than I can count; perhaps I could snatch one up for you... :)

I read that - as strange as it sounds - if you have mutiple pets, and one passes on, to let the others sniff it for a few seconds, then they will somehow 'know' what has happened, and they are somehow better after that.
I absolutely dread the day I will have to test that.

So sorry to hear of your loss REMIX. I'm glad your cat had both of you there when she went. Unfortunately everyone must move on and the best we could all hope for is to have the people we love and those who love us with us at that time.

It's going to suck around your house for a while but, it'll get better. I hope both of you feel better.

We lost our 15-year old pet dog a week or so ago so I know how it feels - they become part of the family.

I too lost a cat. Last night. He had been getting sicker and sicker, sometimes not too much better. The cat, named Paxton (yes, after the supercharger), was with me for a while and with my mother for the last 10 years. My mother is three hours away. My brother sent me a text message which said, "Taking Paxton to the vet. No meds this time. Only to rest."

5-6 years ago, kids were in the neighborhood ringing doorbells and running.....

They tried this at our house at 6 AM once, I was half-dressed and up to start with, the doorbell rings, I saunter to the door, as I approach the door, BOTH of my watch-cats are looking out the dining room window STRAIGHT WEST without even flinching to look at me as I approach the door.
So I walk out the door, walk west around the house, and there the 2 kids are, hiding behind some bushes.
Their parents were woke up at 6:05 AM.........

    Nice kitties.......

Vegas, Randy, sorry to hear of your losses........

This is terrible. I am so sorry.. You gave your cat the best life it coulda had.
My cat is now 15 years old, and im 20 now. I love her more than anything and no ammount of money or anything offerd to me would ever make me sell her or give her away. I've always grown up with her and she's been the best pet i could have ever asked for. I dread the day when she is to pass away, and with summer coming her kidneys may fail. Until then i appreciate every day that she lives and gives me her unconditional love that only a pet can bring.

My son and I buried our recently deceased dog in our backyard at around midnight. I placed a nice bunch of roses above the grave and it is visible from our house. With the passage of time, at least we know where our family pet is buried. Don't know what happens if one sells up, but we intend keeping our house for a long time.
