I commute 30 minutes to school. 10-15 minutes driving, another 15 minutes parking/walking.

Where do you go to school?

Today was the first time in three weeks that I had to show up for work. I usually show up for work but most days I wander about for 15 minutes in the afternoon and then leave. Fortunately today I was able to lay in bed browsing Fchat until the Howard Stern show was over as I didn't need to be in until 11am. I drove then drove the 1/4 mile to work which took approximately twelve minutes, ten of those minutes were spent getting lunch at Burger King. I arrived at work two minutes early at 10:58am where I discovered my coworkers planning a trip to Quiznos for lunch so I put my Burger King lunch in the fridge and immediatly departed for Quiznos for a better lunch. Upon returning from lunch I spend approximately 5 minutes printing some papers then spent the next few hours sitting around chatting with my coworkers. After that I browsed the internet for a while (no Fchat allowed) and read a cheap novel. I did have to answer the phone a couple times but fortunately it wasn't anything important.

Acceptable work attire in my office is sandals and a t-shirt. Lunch from any take-out place is on the company's dime-- delivered. I also scammed myself one of these today.

Thursday is happy-hour night, Friday is volleyball on the beach (where our west office is) from five till the sun goes down.. I really can't complain. :D

You guys are so spoilt. My work attire requires me wearing a hardhat, steel capped boots/long pants/sleeved shirts. And a heavy duty belt with a 2Kg battery/cap lamp hanging off the RH side and a 1Kg self-rescuer oxygen system hanging off the LH side. All that and working 1000 metres underground in a workshop that averages around 35c degree heat and a very hostile enviroment when you go down even deeper to breakdowns and work around 80c degree rock tempreture. But i love it,and i wouldnt have it any other way :D Well, maybe id have your kind of job and markpdx also ;)

I went to work today at 5.30am. The dealership opens at 8. Today was my first day back after nearly two weeks gone. I worked till 5.30 and sort of had a lunch. I had to argue with payroll over my vacation days 3 times today so I could make sure and get full time allowed.

Welcome to the world of exotic car dealerships. Oh, and I would do it all for free if it wasn't for my karting habit.

My last job in NZ was great, everyday I had 40min drive through a valley of rolling hills and farmland then around a flat twisty road beside one of the most beautiful inlets in NZ. In summer I would either do this in my MX5 or Lotus 7 rep. Such a great way to prepare for a day's work or wind down at the end of one.

    Cheers, Neil

i live half a mile from the CBD, 1 mile by road to my office. i avoid peak times at all costs, i chuckle when seeing thousands upon thousands of angry faces stuck in traffic and marching like pigs up the escalators to a 9-5 they hate.

this week....? monday i got in at about 11am, then had to leave at 1pm for a funeral. then i realized i had some stuff to do so the minions could do their job i decided to have a nana-nap monday evening, and went into werk at 11pm. werked through the night coding away with my second monitor playing various teevee shows (angel, scrubs, etc.) and movies that i need to catch up on... i'm the only guy in an 11 storey office-tower until 7am... love it! :) left at 1pm after making sure everything was jake (14 hour day!) and slept like a bambino.

today i got a call at about 9:30 asking if i was going to be in the office by lunch today as the boss needed to meet with me. i did some if-i-say-so-myself quite astonishingly good werk then decided at 4:30 i'd had enough for today so left the office and was home in time to download porn 15 minutes before most other people had even gotten to shutting down their computers. :p

    sadly, i don't get paid **** :(

My commute is ten minutes, and in that time an average of four people deliberately try to kill me. About once a month I make it to work with no murder attempts at all! Dubai is only the third most dangerous place to drive in the world, after Saudi and Oman, but they are desperately trying to catch up, and doing a good job of it.

No matter how bad you think the drivers are where you live, trust me, they are SAINTS.

Mark: Ah, yeah, whut's up, man.

    Voice: Lieutenant Dumbass!

    Mark: YES SIR!

    Voice: Hold for POTUS

:( It takes me a full hour to go from 11.5 miles (Silverlake to Century City) and if I'm lucky I get to see a couple of tranny hookers just before I drive through West Hollywood on Santa Monica blvd. Those are some hard work'n "ladies" to be out that early.

    Gotta love LA.
