First let me start by saying that I don't know how you guys put up with the groaning and squeaking of a GTS....maybe if you haven't been in a GTB you just don't realise what a big difference there is....so my advice...keep away from GTBs.

Secondly, if you have an aussie spec 328, do yourself a favour and change the exhaust.

Having said that, I've never been a passenger in one for such a long drive, and was pleasantly surprised how well the seats hold you in place around corners and how comfy they are.

Driving along the Black Spur approaching Marysville there were, of course, plenty of signs of the bush fire from earlier this year. Amazing, however, is the way that areas seem to have been simply skipped. You drive past a row of burnt out shells, blackened trees and desolation and then within a couple of minutes, there's an area that's untouched. Also incredible is seeing a completely intact house right in the middle of a completely burnt out area. No less startling was seeing concrete slabs where houses had previously been.

There's a lot of construction that's commenced, which certainly contradicts some of the news reports....but at the same time there were still properties that are left uncleared, with buildings in partial or full collapse and the occasional burnt car or truck.

In Marysville itself there is practically NOTHING left apart from the Marysville Bakery (what a miracle) and the remains of the building next door.....but the Bakery was up and running and doing a very healthy trade, which is great to see....and visitors are required! http://tinyurl.com/l8gre3 At the rear of the Bakery there are now just cleared empty blocks where houses used to be.

Interesting to note was the way in which vegetation grows along the whole trunk of blackened trees...Why is that? Sad to note that seeing the regrowth on parts of the burnt areas made very obvious whole mountains that have been burnt to death.

Great to see a bit of snow up in the hills and even a little bit along the road.

Anyway...the pics are as good as I could get using an iphone and putting up with a 328's famous dashboard reflections.

What he means is, if you don't want to hate your GTS, stay away from GTBs

I recognise the chap with the glasses although he has shaved the infamous moustache. :D

The other gentleman is a gentle man. I do hope you didn't corrupt him. ;)

Nice to see everybody doing their part.

    Speaking of *flat* and *part*...

The hair should not look wet, but simply flat and separated.
