I was feeling an odd clunking and vibration almost like a broken motor mount. Car went to Farrari of Silicon Valley and I was told this morning the E-Diff went bad. I'll post more info as I get it. (6 speed manual) Anyone heard of this problem? Caholo
No I haven't but i want to watch this post carefully. my car has a clunk if I am not careful being smooth. My 360 6 speed had non of that. Lee
Terry, You live in Alamo and don't come to the barbecue in San Ramon in October? Make sure you come this year. It's October 7. Doesn't sound great to hear of 430 probs. I hope your car is fixed by October.
My 2006 F430F1 has about 1700 miles. it has about 500 when I bought it and the noise has been their since the beginning. Everything else is perfect and the car only "clunks" some time. it feels like a universal joint did when they wear on the old cars. i do not think it is anything. Lee
My E-Diff light came on a couple of times. Dealer could never find the cause. The engine would also shut down on its own. Unnerving at 45 mph in heavy traffic. Dealer couldn't find cause. I have since sold the car.
My dealership spent much time on the phone with Ferrari in New Jersey and it turns out Ferrari has an additive to the E-Diff that clears up the problem. My E-Diff did not have to be replaced. If you have experienced this problem go to your dealer an reference this additive to clear it up. I have not picked my car up as it is raining in the Bay Area now. I will post updates if needed. Terry PS. Yes Racer, it was covered under warranty.
An additive? I sure hope this is not a stop gap measure to get the car beyond the warranty. Please post more details when you talk to your dealer. Dave
I hope that "additive" is not saw dust! I know of a good additive that stops water leaks... and oh yeah, an additive to fix flat tires...
