My Ferrari deck emblem looked like crap. It was chipped and bent, basically since the day I bought the car. Moreover, there were yucky bits of dried wax between the letters, and it drove me bonkers. In the attached picture look at how the plating has chipped away from the top one. The bottom one is nice and clean.

A few bucks and 20 minutes of time it looks damn nice.

BTW, if you're wondering why your deck lid emblem (and I confirmed this on a 360 over the weekend too) is "springy", it's because there are only two mounting points on the "F" and the "I", with a crappy double-sided stick tape on the middle second "R". When that tape gives up the ghost, the whole emblem becomes springy.

    Very nice.

How did you remove it without damaging the paintwork?

Remove the little rubber plugs from the bottom of the engine hatch. Then, use needle-nose pliers to snap the little retention clips. It then comes off quite easily.

You will need new clips ($1.50) for the reinstallation.

Does anyone know any company that does custom emblems? I have tried "Emblemart" and they are not taking any orders.

WORK? Good god fellas... this isn't exactly "work". An untrained Yeti could have done it.

I've heard of that company, "Ricambi". I'll give them a try and see if they have any parts for my car. ;)

Only dirt gives the car its own character or not? :)
I don't care about the old paint it will be repainte in rosso corsa soon after the modifications are finished. But its funny to see peoples reaction when we worked on it like on a car on the yunkyard. 2 people jumping on the fronthood or some rough headlight removing with a big scratch over the fender. I don't like black so i don't care. Can't wait to see it in red. With hood shock absorbers instead of my good old german lumber hood opener.
