From time to time I see threads regarding various insurers. I should have taken the time to post this sooner, but I have to share my appreciation for Hagerty Insurance.

I have an 1986 Ferrari Mondial. I absolutely adore the car and have invested a significant amount of money in her cosmetic and mechanical restoration and maintenance. By April of this year, I had her pretty much perfect. That is when some moron in an SUV clipped my rear quarter panel in a parking lot. The damage was limited to a scuffed bumper and a small dent in the rear quarter panel.

I am well aware that a Mondial does not command the price premium of a Daytona, but it is very special to me.

I took the car to an authorized Ferrari bodyshop, the best in the country IMHO. I told them that I wanted them to hammer out the panel by hand and repair the car like they would if it was a multimillion dollar TR. Despite the minor damage, the estimate to repair the car to my exacting standards was very substantial.

When I called Hagerty, I expected significant resistance, but before I could pitch my case, they EXPLAINED TO ME, that they understood how special Ferraris are and that they would fix the car to my satisfaction no matter what. They kept their word, and didn't raise my rates. In fact, they advised me that they wouldn't have raised my rates if it had been my fault!

A month later, I got my car back just in time for a Ferrari concours...My little Mondial took Platinum.

Here is the thread regarding the repair

    Thanks Hagerty!

I'm glad they took care of you. It worked out nicely.

They refused to cover me. 07 430 was denied coverage bc they said they are only covering occasional use cars such as collectibles.

Even my collector policy at State Farm doesn't allow "To and from work"....you need a throw down truck VIN, for that.

When I changed to Hagerty, they called me and said they didn't think I had enough declared value on my cars and suggested upping them a bit to just under thr radar for a cost increase. Glad to hear about your treatment.
