    Congratulations! I've never driven an MGA but it always seemed like the perfect "basic motoring" experience. I imagine they are the purest form of "wind in your hair" driving - having the maximum amount of fun at even modest speeds on wide-open country roads.

    I've driven a friend's 1970's MGB, which I enjoyed quite a bit, but an MGA seems one step closer to the fundamentals of open roadster ownership.

    Enjoy your new red toy in good health for many sunny days to come.

    MGA is one of the best looking British cars.

    Thanks guys, I'm sure it'll be a fun ride! I've owned my '67 B-GT for almost ten years now and it's a fantastic fun little car. I guess my reasoning for buying the Bentley and now this is to try to quell my seller's remorse with the Ferrari ;)

    Always liked the MGA but never pulled the trigger till now. The bonus with this car is twofold:

    1. It comes with a brand new, race-spec 1600 engine that was built by a notable Brit car shop in Winston-Salem, NC. Never been installed, still wrapped in plastic. Don't know if it'll find its way into the car under my tenure but whatever happens, I'll be sure to hang a pair of Weber 45s on it :D

    2. It's my excuse to play Harbour Town this weekend!!

    Cheers,
    Aaron

    I rarely drink. Guests keep draining my supply.

    Re;
    4] I "advised" another F-Chatter to attend. = I let another F-Chatter [with whom is shared a similar taste in specific cars from many a marque] know about Hilton Head auction, and we exchanged quite a few PMs. Kinda doubt he attended, but had fun chatting about it.

    Question begs
    5] Where can I find auction results?

    Ahhhh...gotcha. I didn't buy this at the auction there- it was a private transaction. As for the auction....who puts it on? I know nothing about it.

    Either way....I'll still enjoy 18 holes at Harbour Town this weekend!!

    :D

    Cheers;
    Aaron
