Well 3 months ago i asked here at the Ferrarichat asking for help locating a 91-94 Porsche 911 Turbo. At martins recommendation i called Mike Grande at LNS performance motorcars who happened to have a 1991 965 Turbo.
Though mike is a nice guy and at times he would even go out of his way to make a sale, yet working with him isn't as easy as you would think it would be,he is a charmer.Well i did end up buying that car but dealing with Mike has been nothing but pain, agony and frustration.I now think having dealt with him over the last 3 months i can warn other possible buyers as to what to expect from him.
1)- Told me it was a one owner car and guess what i found out it was a 2 owner car ( that was a biggest lie that i would never excuse him for )
2)-Made me send him the payment overnight and when time came for him to send me the title overnight,he sent it 2 day service, even though he had charged me for overnight ( second lie) and he knew i wanted it ovenight.
3)-Telephone converstion was never pleasent with him either,he always seemed to be in some kinda rush. While talking to him on the phone,he hung up on me several several times and every time he would make excuses like either the battery went dead or he went out of the network, blah blah blah.Yes i know it can happen but not on regular basis.I don't think he ever returned my tele calls in last 2 months which i think is very unprofessional.
4)-Only a week after i bought the car,one day all of a sudden it died on my and i ended up having it towed to my local Porsche dealership.Well i called Mike that i needed the previous owners tele # asap as the dealership needs to know if he had any mods done to it or not.Well 3 days later when i finally got hold of Mike he told me that he was going out of town for a week and that he was emailing me the tele number right away.Well guess what,Mr grande went on vacation ( ? ) without emailing me the tele number.I tried calling him several times during that week and not once i got hold of him, even his assistant, his name Mike too, never answered the phone either, can we say callers ID.Anyway the Porsche dealership was not able to work on the car as they weren't sure about the mods.
Well upuntil now i have been very patient with him however i have now lost it all and here is the reason why,
I mostly drive the car for pleasure and 2-1/2 months later i still haven't driven the car to the hospital ( i'm an MD ) as i think it sounds bit too loud, kinda ricer sound to me.I have begged him, pleaded him, sent him several emails and even called him several times regarding my stock exhaust system and to this day all i have is,lies lies and lies. I have several emails from him in last 6 weeks, where he promised that he would be sending me the exhaust in next few days and yet 2 months later i'm still looking for it.
Since i'm unable to drive the car to Hospital i am now getting frustrated as to how to get the parts from him ?
Martin,if you are reading this, can you please contact Mike,he won't answer my calls, and tell him i need the parts bad and that pleaaaaaase send it to me asap. For all others, please learn a lesson from my dealing with him as all i got from him is nothing but pain & frustration.
Mike,i'm sure you would be reading this too and i'm dying to hear what your side of the story is ? You have your assistant Mike looking after the buisnesss for you esp when you are out of town, right,so why couldn't he send me my stuff ? He never answers the phone and again never returns the calls either,so what is he there fore ?
So guys,am i the only unfortunate person who got stung by him or do i have any partners here ?
    Later, Yasir

Yes that's him.I really don't understand what's the delay in having my stuff shipped to me ? Can you imagine buying your dream car and not being able to drive it.The funny thing is he knows my interest in buying a 355 and that is the reason why i'm here on this site and yet he is ignoring/treating me like this, definately not a good buisness practice. One thing for sure he is not getting my buisness again & sorry for the ranting.

    Sorry misspelled your name.

I am sure this is a misunderstanding. Sometimes I have that with Mike myself. Everything will be all right. I am sure this is all a big misunderstanding.

I totally DISAGREE with this post.

I purchased my 1990 348ts from Mike, and have found him to be a straight-shooting, honest guy. Mike has gone out of his way to help with my car on some little items, and heck, I talked with him TODAY on the phone. He called me, out-of-the-blue, just to see if I was still enjoying the car.

Mike is a busy guy, and buying/selling isn't his only business. The two Mike's at LNS are always hauling around to various tracks, but I've never had any trouble reaching them by email or cell.

You're off base here, and probably should have tried working through Martin (Cavallino) before venting in this public location.

I'd buy another car from him anytime.

Daniel, I agree that he should have attempted to work it out first before venting. However, I dont' think that just because you had a good relationship with him means everyone else must have had one too. I don't think you can use his allegation to prove this "Mike" guy is a bad guy anymore than you can use your praise of him to prove this "Mike" guy is a good guy. IMHO.

So far I didn't read that he did anything really dishonest, maybe the 2 owner thing but you are buying a used car so who really knows how many owners and drivers it's had could just be a honest mistake and as for giving out the previous owners telephone number well, that isn't really a good idea or accepted business practice, it would seem that a competent shop should be able to tell if any modifications were done. Just my .02 cents

It sounds to me like he DID try to resolve it before venting here.

Yes may be i should have called Martin first but really i got so frustrated that i did something that i should not have done to begin with,i'm really feeling bad about all this. However like i said what i couldn't understand is,why couldn't he sent me my stuff esp when he knew how desperately i wanted/needed the exhaust system.
Overall he is a nice, trusting guy but i think he has gotten so busy with his other schedule, racing Ferraris, that he just didn't have time to listen to me,just my theory.I strongly believe that he needs to sit down and get his priorities straight.

You take care of your customers first, the guy needs to get his priorities straight, so busy stuff and excuses don't fly.Especially when you repeatedly try and contact him,I think you have given him enough opportunities to honor his commitments.

So, this Mike guy has plenty of time to call you just to see if you are enjoying your car, but he is too busy to call Yasir to deal with an urgent issue? Certainly sounds odd to me.

I think Yasir has a right to complain. I don't see why he should have to call anybody but the guy he wants to talk to. Where is this Mike located? I live in nashville and maybe I could help.

Sounds to me that Yasir is right, though we haven't heard Mike's side of the story.

I think that Mike has a right to defend himself(and should), before we pass judgement on him.

I'm sure that someone that knows him, will tell him to join 'Chat' and and tell his side of the story.

If he doesn't respond, then I'll have to side with Yasir, and never have any dealings with Mike.
