    Hi Alex
That's my old F40!!! Good to know it is still around and being driven regularly... What an awesome car, I still miss it. Definitely one of the freshest F40s I ever drove...Is that adjusable suspension giving you any trouble?

I owned a 959 for a couple of years back in 1998. Wondeful car, but I think it feels outdated today, while the F40 never seems to age!
Watch the maintenance, it matched my Carrera GT for cost!! Those boys at Reading are not afraid to charge!

Amazing. Only if those cars could talk, the stories they would tell. Congrats on adding the 959!!

    That's quite the pair...congrats!

It's funny--the F40 looks smaller from the front next to the Porsche but bigger from the back...

    Hey George,

Great to hear from you. Yes I still have the car. Had a couple of moments when I was going to sell, but in the end just couldn't let go! I only had 1 problem with the adjustable suspension about a year ago-when it went flat on me and wouldn't go up. Sorted that out beautifully by installing a bypass reset switch. Never had any further problems since.
I know what you mean about maintenance on the 959. Just completed a 30k pound service at Reading! Thankfully included in the cost of purchase. Phew!
Lovely car though. Completely different to the F40. Only 6k miles on it too! A couple of more pics.

Its a one-off colour special order. I think it looks nice. But then again I am biased!

Its beautiful Alex.....congrats. I don't think you're biased. Its a very "european" colour scheme. I believe the interior is called ox-blood.

OK, so what is the verdict on the side-by-side driving experience?

Here, the F40 blows the 959 away.
Over at P-Chat he will tell them that the 959 is far more refined of a driver than the F40. ;)

In every subjective and objective way the F40 is the more drivers car, no question about it. It is more focused, more raw, quicker, exciting, hyperactive, nervous and..... much more difficult to live on a day to day basis also! But of course that is the magic of the F40. Tell me of a car that has the F40 whipped in these respects and has more of those qualities. Does it exist? I don't think so. The buck stops with the F40 I think!
The F40 is a pure sports car, whereas the 959 is a quick GT. The 959 is a technical tour de force. It is patient zero for all modern day porsches. Everything used on today's porsches evolved from the 959. That is I think what makes the 959 so cool... And of course the build quality.....If you look at the F40 and compare the 959 build quality...well as John McEnroe used to say "you just can not be serious!" And I won't even mention brakes and gearchange which are simply superb and top notch. Much much better than the F40.

However in drivers terms, you can't ignore over 350kgs in weight advantage of the F40. It shows at every turn of the wheel.

Having said that, if I was going on a cross European road trip with my wife, I know which one I would choose....959 all the way. Because you can only take so much of the F40 on a long trip. I know my wife certainly would agree with that!
