I always wonder if I can find my father's old 365 BB. All I have is a photo of the license plate. I may have posted this post MANY YEARS AGO. This Boxer had the cloth seats in a tan or cream. We owned it back in 1974 or 1975. He bought it in New York and I believe sold it around 1976 or 1977. I know none of this is much help. It's just worth the shot. Last Name is Gugasian

I skimmed through the registry at the back of Nathan Beehl's book, and I did't see anything that jumped out as New York with Rossa/Nero and Tan/Beige/Crema interior. It seems about half did not have a known starting location. There weren't that many in the US with that color combo though, so you could possibly go one-by-one (maybe starting with the ones that weren't known to come in on the west coast).

    Good luck tracking it down.

    Good day Armen,

Wow, for your Dad to have a 365BB during that era of time must have been amazing considering that most other cars were shaped like blocks/boxes. To most, the car must have looked like something from the future! I am sure that he (and perhaps your younger self) really enjoyed the car.

Best of luck in your search!

    Cheers,

    Sam

What was his next car? Did he px this 365 BB for another Ferrari?

I don't know if our Daytona Spider was "next" or during or Before.

Unfortunately the Italian registration plate which is seen here on your dad's 365 GT4 BB actually didn't belong to this car, but to a 365 GTB/4 Daytona plexiglass which was exported to the USA from Italy in 1976 or 1977.

FWIW, this registration plate was issued in January 21, 1976, so the photo must have been taken in the second half of 1976 or in 1977. Unfortunately the plate had obviously been fixed on the car for decorative purposes only.

So few cloth seated BB’s were made, only about the first 30 cars, and a large percentage of those were blue. I’d love to help if I can, feel free to send me a PM

The Italian plates "BL 107640" on the photo (post 1) are from Belluno. As posted earlier (post 6) these plates were issued 21 January 1976 to a 365 GTB/4 Berlinetta, #13701. This silvergrey Daytona had been sold 29 December 1975 to Luigi Berneri in Belluno, Italy.
Did Levon "Leo" Gugasian purchase the unidentified red 365 GT4 BB from Berneri in Belluno? Or from whom? In New York? Name of dealer?
Berneri's Daytona 13701 was exported to USA in early 1977 and sold to John Cordell Medlen in Tucson, AZ.

As said it must have been later bc those Belluno plates were issued late January 1976 only. Not before.

So the plates were just put on at the end of his ownership time for the pic or like someone else said 'decorative purposes' ?

My father was not into "decorative", I'm guessing that was the way the car came? Maybe these photo of him were taken the 1st week or 2 of purchasing the car? Before he did get NY DMV plates. I don't know. ill ask more questions and see if he remembers ANYTHING else.

There was a blue over black 365 GT4 with tan/beige cloth interior at Auto Palace, Pittsburgh, PA in the late 1970s. The car was imported from somewhere in the Middle East, the exterior and glass looked like they had been sandblasted; the interior was baked. I believe that the car was painted red and resold.
