I saw this this picture a few days ago and now my screen saver. This is my all time favorite. It's the first left hand drive one I've seen. Anyone now how many left hand drive 206 SP's were made.

Love it too. If I could have any car, but could have only one, this would be it. I wonder if the 206SPs can be used on the street.

its 006 and not driveable on the street. Engelbert Stieger - owner of 010 told me, the Dino is difficult to start. first he needs warm-up spark plugs and when the engine is at temperature you have to change to running spark plugs.
i doubt this procedure will be very practical when you drive it everyday.

btw - the car is RHD.

Funny, I was reading the Godfrey Eaton book published in 1984 just last week and the SP they feature for that section was a repeat winner in hillclimbs. Sounds more like a nimble P3/P4. Too bad we don't see more of these around.

Is that a periscope mirror on the 206 where the driver looks up to see rearwards?

A lot of vintage guys have made their way around the 'warm-up' spark plugs and 'running spark plug' issue by installing a hi-power ignition system. Both competition Daytona's I have seen had MSDs

If I had a 206 (highly unlikely), I would try to have it detuned so I could use it on the street. I wonder if that's at all possible.

I had the same plan for a Lotus 23, and thought of installing a spare twincam in place of the highly-tuned motor. It seemed a good idea, even with the Hewland box. But its ground clearance was so low, I couldn't clear the speed bumps in my neighborhood. It was also very low overall, so difficult to drive outside of the track.

The 206 looks like a better candidate. I wish someone made a replica!
