My Ferrari saved my live..

Last month I decided to put new alu covers on the pedals on my Mondial. They where delivered by Superformance. It looked like an easy job. I started to drill the first holes in to the clutch pedal.
My position, under the steeringwheel, my head down between seat and pedals wasn’t comfortable at all. The metal felt harder than expected. I used a lot of power to get the job done quickly…
I felled a pain coming from the chest and going down to my arms. A pain I never felled before. I tried to rest a bit, thinking the pain will go away…but it did not. So I looked for a better position. But whatever movement I did, the pain remained the same.
I don’t remember how long I suffered this pain. This pain remained several minutes and I even think I lost consciousness for a while.
Never the less, I managed to drill two more holes for the brake pedal and I installed the two pedal covers on place.
After this I hat no force in my arms and the pain in the chess continued. Later on, in the evening, I went to visit the nearest clinic. A heart specialist ordered an ambulance which droved my to a heart specialised clinic. I was victim of a stroke. That evening the specialist put a spring in one of the mean heart vain to re-open this vain. The other vain will be re-opened in May.
You can put it this way: while working on my Mondial, I forced my system and got a stroke. If it didn’t happened that day, probably it would happen at a more inconvenient moment, more suddenly, like driving a car, swimming or even in my sleep.
I’m convinced, working on my Mondial that day, saved my live…

You passed out, but yet continued to work on your Ferrari. Priceless!!!

 

The first sign of a heart attack or stroke is usually denial. You blame it on heartburn, pulled muscle. Working on your car and realizing " it was a pain I never felt before", saved your life.

A similar story: After a motorcycle crash I decided to purchase an F-car and found my passion on 4 wheels instead of 2. I was lucky to survive the accident and substituting the F-car made me forget about wanting to ride again. F-passion works in marvelous ways

The same thing happened to me when I got my bill for my major service. Glad to here you are doing well.

 

What you gained in performing Ferrari work yourself, you lost with ER bills. (Why does health care cost more than maintaining a Ferrari???)

First off glad you're ok, and yes, you are 'da man' for finishing the job!

Maybe there should be a tech service bulletin to take 2 aspirin before picking up the Ferrari from a major?

Working on a Ferrari might put you at risk of a stroke, but I've found that driving a Ferrari tends to make me feel better, calmer, and more at peace with the world -- perhaps less at risk from a stroke.

Now if only I could get my doctor to prescribe periodic flat-crank rumble body massages, I could write off my Ferrari as a medical expense.

Now I know that it whas foolish to get on with the job...I have no medical background or what reason to believe that I hat a stroke. I whas thinking a muscle or nerf in the upperarm aera that whas overreacting.
I never smoked, never drunk alcohol, eat only healthy food, lived with a enough sport activity and I'm only in the mid-40...so thinking to be a victim of a stroke whasn't so ovius.
The job isn't done anyway...still have to drill the wholes for the accelerator pedal. This will be done after my next stenting in May.
But before all, enjoying my live again.
